A responsive and friendly staff— and the pool!
I love swimming laps in the pool.
Excellent workout rooms, both machines and weights. Best stuff in the area.
Showers and bathrooms clean; soap in containers. (I am used to In Shape's gyms)
Their fabulous staff and customer service. The luxurious pool and spa
The gym has nice equipment, staff is helpful, there's plenty of group and private training, and lots of different types of workout programs available.
Some suggestions, though: have a way for gym members to let staff know of broken equipment (I've asked several staff about equipment that wasn't working but no one seemed to know how to report it); let us know who we ask for help with using the equipment (not a training session, just how to use/adjust equipment); in-pool training (e.g., aqua jogging) during spring/summer; survey the members about what additional group training they'd like and other suggestions.
The staff are welcoming and the facilities are well maintained. I look forward to my visits as I enjoy swimming and the sauna at the Capital YMCA.
You need to lower your prices at the capital Ymca. You do not understand marketing and trends. Market a promotional with no sign-up fee and you have to price it five dollars cheaper than 24 hour fitness. Then blitz all the advertising places you can and market something like the first hundred people who sign up there’s no joining fee. then sure charge like a very moderate joining fee like $40 or something for the next hundred people then when you have like 50% of the people signed up that you want to have signed up like whatever your goal numbers are then maybe match the price to 24 hour fitness and only once you have like 70% of the people signed up that you wanna have signed up then start raising the price for new and release, but make sure those other people are grandfathered in for like at least a year if not a couple years I love it that I have a private gym all to myself, but I hate people. I’m a total introvert everyone else in the world wants to go to the trendy gym where everybody else is so you have to get the people to come there. No families will ever come there because it cost seven dollars per visit to park. It is not feasible for a family budget you will only have single people and couples from downtown ever become members. That’s your only target population. You are only committing competing with 24 hour fitness. Make sure you put on your advertising materials that you have a outdoor swimming pool heated to 82 degrees . That’s a huge selling point and I’m sure nobody knows about it.
Staff friendliness and attention, multiple classes for members, all around community spirit.
The renovation of the club was much needed and looks fantastic. Now all we need is new members to enjoy it
Pickleball- the trainers-
Comfortable, new equipment, not crowded.
Great facilities and instructors. I especially love Mari and Tia and Stephanie for the reformer.
I like that it is not too far from me, and the variety of classes. I love the Zumba, pickleball, and yoga. But I might get into the strength classes soon. I also like the social events. However, I know there are many of my friends that don't live close to a YMCA, and might join if it was closer to them.
Amy is a great instructor and I take all her classes.
I like the quietness of the gym. Mainly adults.
I enjoy the availability of the classes I like: Pilates on the Mat and Yoga, and the high quality of these classes. Also I like using the weight machines in the Cardio room; they seem to me to be of very good quality, for a good workout in a relatively short time. Plus, this is an attractive facility both exterior and interior. The squash courts and the outdoor pool are beautiful
It was very pleasant. I actually enjoyed the mat pilates class with Stefani. She really knows her pilates. The actual space is very nice and quiet.
Tia Kirkpatrick is a fantastic Wi Gong teacher!!!
This gym has new state of the art machines and free weights all in close proximity. It's very quiet and uncrowded so you can get a workout in a low stress environment. However, parking is limited, so you might have to park in a residential area and walk a few blocks.
I really enjoyed the introduction from Tia for the Pilates reformer classes. She’s great and I’m hoping to attend her classes as soon as my schedule changes.
I recommend it to all my friends who live locally.
The lap pool and Jacuzzi are great. Plenty of space for Basketball too.
The pickelball courts and other members are very fun and nice.
Hours of operation & price. And the staff are very friendly.
High quality equipment. Welcoming environment. I feel comfortable here.
Staff is very polite and friendly. The equipment is for the most part new and great quality. The building itself is old and some things need replacing or repairing but for just going for a workout it’s great.
Cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
