I love the Lakewood Y. Very friendly staff & atmosphere, spacious facility with good equipment, good location. also you have Ellie's Lean & Cut class which is my favorite strength training class. Like the other Ys it's very inclusive, as diverse as Durham. Always good to see a couple of kids playing ping pong in the middle of everything.

The space is very welcoming. It's not too big, but it's also roomy. The Kids Zone employees were so sweet and nice to my children.

I love the classes and huge selection and sites offered by the ymca in the triangle. I go to one class or another almost every day. My only criticism is the pool at Hope Valley is not available to members after Labor Day and it seems that the ymca should be able to employ a lifeguard to extend those dates. Please consider.

The women's locker room has plenty of space. At certain times of day, the gym is not very crowded, making for an efficient workout.
I enjoy going to yoga classes at the facility and then sauna. Love it!
I love the racquetball and I really really like the front desk they are energized and eager to help! I love the vibe that it has as it is very homie!!

Facilities in good shape. Convenient hours. Good mix of both classes and individual exercising areas.
It is just the right size and is hardly ever overcrowded, meaning, as in one rarely ever has to wait on machines. The exercise room is the best of all the other Durham Y campuses. They have THREE ping pong tables and two racquet ball courts, both of which are activities which foster social interaction. I miss the pool, but such is life!
My son came home tired from activities every day. He was always excited to tell me what he did at camp that day. He made friends and felt safe with his counselors!

My son likes the activities and the camp counselors. This is the first camp this summer he hasn't complained or spoken of a negative experience at camp.
I like the open space. The convenience of moving about freely from one station to another.

My child has the greatest time there. The different sports/activities keeps the campers active and engaging. The lessons he's learning and the experiences he's having are simply amazing. The camp is affordable and the hours are great.

Friendly atmosphere
All is great except...PLEASE extend the Lakewood hours to 6:00 closing on Sunday's just like it was pre-Covid. And bring back the large towels like all the Y's in Raleigh and Cary have done.

I love the gym and the associated benefits related to my daughter. Honestly the reduction in price for her after school care is enough to make the membership worth it, but it feels like I get a tip flight gym membership for free on top of it. The sauna is a great value.
