A few months ago they got new basketballs available to rent. I don’t have to use my old one anymore. Great amount of different classes for members and time slots for adult pick up basketball games
Great leaders and staff great culture. I am concerned that things are becoming too busy though…classes, cardio and weights.
Wow this gym is so nice. Miles ahead of the Carrboro ymca! I loved the literal elliptical machine and the HUGE sauna in the women’s locker room. And towels!!!! Big plus.
Love the community, the group classes. But I would recommend to others with the caveat that they should wait until the HVAC issues are sorted out because the temp is miserable in the studios.
The early classes
I have been a Y member for many years and appreciate the YMCA commitment to member services and health. I am active in yoga classes as well as some swim classes especially during the summer. I believe the indoor pool with its heating issues has discouraged members from taking full advantage of pool classes, since the water has been colder than normal this winter season. but the instructors have made other classes available during those timeslots and that is much appreciated. We are indeed fortunate to have such a premier facility located nearby.

Pool
I love the Y. I have 3 sons, and we've been members for years. I especially love to see young men in the gym, playing basketball and having a wonderful time. The Y is a great environment for young people and families, and I recommend it to all my friends! I also love the pilates and yoga classes.

The two things that stand out -- the friendliness of the staff and there seems to be more interest in Medicare-insured participants.
The staff and management maintain a great facility for training and create an atmosphere that draws in the type of members I appreciate being around while I do my training.
