The pool at Meadowmont was great!
This was the first time I visited the pool there-what a beautiful facility
Our kid had a wonderful experience. He enjoyed the activities, the counselors and locations he experienced. As parents, we appreciated the location(s), cost and hours covered. He also enjoyed the themes for the various weeks.
This was the first summer that we chose to enroll in a camp at the Y. Our son is 6 and we knew that he would prefer to spends his days staying active. We could not have been more pleased with this camp as a whole. The counselors learned his name on day 1. They remembered us parents. They are kind and funny. Our son has great things to talk about after every single day of camp. He brings home crafts and medals and awards. He is made to feel important and recognized as an individual rather than just one of the campers. He has grown and matured so much over the summer and we give most of the credit to the Y and how they allow the kids to be independent. We will absolutely continue to enroll our kids in summer camps as well as sports camps in the future. Such a fun experience for us all! We are beyond appreciative of the staff. Thanks!

Convenient drop off/pickup, attentive counselors, camper was recognized on two occasions for showing respect, being camper of day. Emphasis on the character building traits was a positive experience.

My granddaughter turned 5 in May so she had the opportunity to attend YMCA Day Camp at River Park and she loves it. My granddaughter was diagnosed with selective mutism which causes her not to be socially around people other than her immediate family, and the way the staff embraced her was amazing. I want to give a big thanks and praise to Mrs. San because she was very supportive every time I called her with questions and concerns about Promise. She made sure that Promise was taking care of. I also want to give a big shout out to Mrs. Bonnie and Mrs. Whitted. Promise really liked Mrs Bonnie and would mention her whenever she came home. Mrs. Whitted was the reason I kept Promise in camp the last three weeks because I was thinking about taking her out and she said some things that convinced me to let her continue. I am sorry if I missed anyone, but the entire staff is great they are a great team and they are wonderful with the kids and I just want to say thank you and thanks for all you do and you are very much appreciated!

Also, you offer a wide range of classes. I truly enjoyed chair yoga.
The pool, aqua aerobics, tai chi, chair yoga and so many different classes to chooseAnd a shout out to Teresa at the front. She is a gem!!!! I also went to the aqua aerobics in the outdoor pool at Meadowmont which was great.
One thing I think could be improved is that it’s hard to understand and navigate the website iand the schedules if your new and the main YMCA isn’t very helpful on the phone in explaining things. But, getting past that it is so worth it!!

I have met nothing but nice polite helpful courteous people here, they smile and want to be helpful to you. And are helpful to you. It makes you feel real nice inside.
Great opportunity for my kids to play summer basketball here. They are very organized and the staff on hand to assist on game nights are very helpful. Also, great facilities.
Friendly staff
We like the Y. The facilties (Chapel Hill and Meadowmont) are great and the classes offered are also great with the variety and amount that are offerred.
The membership is also good because we can go to other Y facilities in the general area. And one of the key reasons for the classes being good are the instructors - you have great offerings by knowledgable staff!
Our one difficult point is the membership which accepts Renew Active, but not United Healthcare's Renew Active. But we undertand this is their issue as much as the Y's and hopefully you all can get the issues resolved keeping that connection from function.

I love the friendliness of the staff, the good maintenance of the equipment, the strong sense of community, and the close proximity to my house!
I would like to bring up one item. This is the ONLY negative from my past year+ of membership.
Specifically, in the equipment area there are many signs asking members to clean the machines before and after use. There are two locations where the alcohol wipes are located for this purpose. It is quite upsetting to see the number of members that simply do not follow this simple procedure - as indicated on multiple signs. If that is not bad enough, when a YMCA employee conducts a training session with a perspective new member, the employee does not follow this procedure. So - the new member does not learn it. I have commented several times to the Y employee and get ignored each time.
If you (the management of the YMCA) post the "clean the equipment" signs, I would expect your staff to train the new members and follow these procedures themselves!

Clean facility, really nice staff, fun gym classes
Great staff, great facilities, plenty of excellent classes for everyone's schedule.
I visited at the last minute last week when my son's swim practice got moved from Raleigh to Chapel Hill. It was my first time at this location and I was thoroughly impressed. My experience was exceptional. The staff person that greeted me noticed and wished me a happy birthday. This was not only exceptional customer service but a personal gift as not even members of my own family had yet acknowledged the day. She then proceeded to escort me to my class since I was unfamiliar with the building. I regret not noting her name to recognize her specifically.
The great experience continued when my instructor Henri recognized that I wasn't a regular member of the class and went over and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and knew what to expect from the class. It was an excellent class and wish I lived closer to attend regularly.

Water aerobics-have enjoyed the outdoor classes at Meadowmont ! They have been very large this summer. I think there have been women from neighboring towns coming. Have not seen them at the indoor YMCA.
