Member Testimonials
Good facility, lots of classes, friendly staff.
Classes
Cassidy Maxwell’s WOW class is terrific it keeps me motivated to stay healthy and get stronger.
I also appreciate the greetings of Mona at the front desk and Allon on the second floor. I am constantly amazed that Allon remembers every name and keeps current on their activities.
I LOVE the variety of classes, instructors and class times available as well as the variety of machines to do individual work outs on and people to help with any questions you might have. I am VERY disappointed that Blue Cross Blue shield did not work out an arrangement so that Seniors could keep a membership at YMCA through their insurance. I canceled my FREE membership at another Fitness club provided through my INS co. to come to the Y and PAY for it myself. That's how much I like it. And I'm tight with my money. So there you have it!
Great facility with great staff and programs . Took a hiatus for a number of years. Had been a member for 20 plus years. Came back in the last year rejoining. Membership history at other YMCA facilities and private gyms, This facility appears well managed and on top of their game.
Cassidy is an amazing coach for WoW and Natalie brings the joy to Body Pump every session. Everyone is so welcoming and inclusive.
I think the Nir YMCA is the best, the staff is friendly, there are plenty of machines, plenty of space. I am new there but so far I am loving it!
Our little one is learning his swim skills quickly and having a great time!

FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE
Friendly, clean, and variety
Friendly staff, class variety, equipment variety, lanes for swimming laps are usually available.
I love the pool, hot tub and sauna. The staff is very frendly and helpful
It’s not often that you hear the word “family” used to describe the atmosphere of a place where people come together. But the Nir Family YMCA truly embodies that feeling. Everyone I encounter feels like a friend, and there is a genuine sense of community throughout the facility. The YMCA itself is one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of being part of. I love the staff—every single member is gracious, welcoming, and helpful. The Nir Family YMCA has truly been one of the best parts of moving to North Carolina.
Complete facility with something for everyone. Mostly clean and tidy. Friendly staff.
The cardio and strength gym and the upkeep and attention put into the sauna.
Great first experience.
The swimming pool
Great exercise classes and a sauna!
The only thing I didn’t love was that one of the sessions was cancelled due to bad weather (rain). Not a huge deal but I wish it could have been made up, especially since there were only 4 classes. The instructors, facility, pool, locker rooms, were amazing!
Melissa was an awesome instructor.
I like the teacher if my women on weights class Cassidy
Location convenience, friendly staff
The friendly staff, the exercise classes and the personal training that is offered.
Im very happy with the YMCA both locations offer so much!
Great classes and instructors
The staff here at the NIR YMCA are top notch. Very approachable, patient, and helpful in every way. All the cardio equipment looks clean and operable and theres also an adequate amount of weight lifting stations. This location is filled with activities for all ages and fitness levels. From weight lifting to water aerobics, with family pool time available as well. I couldn't be more happy with a facility.
Friendly staff
Great atmosphere
Love the lifeguards that work early in the morning!

Primarilt the friendliness of the staff and most everyone who goes there! Also, I love the water aerobics and the sauna. The other classes are excellent as well, but I always find an excuse not to go! Excellent equipment options too!
