I am always enthusiastic and inspired by the instructors and trainers at the Y their classes are so awesome and the equipment is up-to-date and new. It’s also clean and their aquatics classes are truly challenging too.! it’s always a welcoming and friendly environment.
Yes the facility is up to date with a large gym, great workout equipment and several large workout rooms where the classes are held. There is also a large room where the little ones are supervised at play. Yes, there is also an olympic size swimming pool where children are taught to swim in a safe area away from the teens and adults who are using the lanes. Adult aquatic exercise classes take place in this pool. Yes, truly at the YMCA the amenities are outstanding.
However, it is the staff who are the reason I continue to return to the YMCA at 60th Street in Carefree/North Scottsdale. While I do not know all of the staff by name, they are ALL friendly and welcoming. I have never met an employee there who was not. I do know Shannon and Debbie who are both excellent instructors and both professional and compassionate individuals. They are mindful of the age composite of their class. I am 77 years old and their awareness is important to me. I believe leading older adults in physical exercise and to do so successfully takes a special skill and understanding. I have seen Nathan and Janette teach as well and they are both, in my opinion excellent in what they do.
I suppose I am going on and on. However, when one spends as much time at the YMCA as I do and as so many of my friends and acquaintances do, the excellence of the YMCA staff looms large in our lives. The excellence of the staff is really why we return week after week.
Variety of classes to choose from. Great trainers. Nice environment, sense of community.

The equipment is top notch. The staff is friendly. The classes (all free with membership) are varied. Personal trainers are knowledgeable and listen to your individual needs. You get tremendous value for very reasonable membership cost.

I really like the vast array of equipment in the weight room and the fact that the machines are kept up. If something needs repair it doesn't sit broken for long. Also that it is clean.

The weight room is properly maintained and cleaned. The Yoga instructor on Tuesday mornings is OUTSTANDING, and my wife enjoys swimming during the lap period in the outdoor pool!

I love the instructors I have in the classes I take. I really feel they all give a excellent workout. I feel so invigorated when I leave. I met so many nice girls there I feel are my friends. There's so much your gym offers as far as a variety of workouts. I can't imagine anyone couldn't find the
workout they like.
