Exercise the surroundings the weight lifting The basketball court In the community
Friendly staff, plenty of relevant equipment and above all, the cleanliness to include spray bottle stations allowing members to wipe down equipment before and after use.
Perfect gym and perfect staff. just hate the to pay to park
The swimming pool, location and hours are very convenient for me.
I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities and amenities available at this location.
Pool, spa, showers, chill area. Enjoying it.
The kindness demonstrated by the employees. The facility is always clean and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Friendly staff and excellent group classes especially Body Pump and Strength!
I really like the amenities that this Y downtown has over the others in the metroplex..
I love the friendly and helpful staff, especially Caleb and Anna!!
This is a great YMCA - very clean and lots of strength training equipment. The only complaint I have is that the steam room has a lot of mechanical problems and seems to be out of service often. Also there is never enough coffee when I come in around 10AM.
But the staff is awesome at this facility - top shelf!
- The location
-The different options and times for instructor led classes.
-Instructor David evaluates the strength of class participants and subsequently determines what exercises to include in the class to make attendees stronger which is amazing.
Swimming and going to all the ymca s pools
The steam room, sauna, and staff are amazing. This is a membership I will happily pay while I live in Dallas.
PLEASE stay open later than 8p though. That 8p close time is too soon. Even 8:30p would be better.
Enthusiastic staff making our lives better...
Awesome array of physical assets to make that happen.
I like the large weight room, but the pool, sauna, and steam room are the best!
Please open all eight lanes in the swimming pool. This should be a top priority. Thanks
Just an excellent Y with great facilities and staff
Friendly staff, nice facilities and cleanliness.
The classes
Great pool. Excellent location
Good facility, good parking, kept clean, fellow members are courteous and there to get their workouts. While friendly, men and women are there for the workouts, not just look like they do a workout.
Friendly staff, great equipment, nice locker rooms.
It's all good
Facility, equipment, and friendly staff.
Love it have been a member since 1972 from the old y to the present one. You have everything to have a good workout
Great staff. Always friendly and helpful.
Lots of physical space in building. Plenty of room for working out. For me, it is the perfect place to relax and unwind while being in a safe environment.
Great equipment. I use free weights mostly and I feel that is the most used equipment when I attend. One thing I wish the gym had is a sauna for the women’s locker room.
Great classes spin and bodypump
Love the space. Equipment. Community.
I like everything it is a awesome place to workout

There is no other facility in the downtown area that has the amenities the T.Boone offers. I have heard one of the reasons the Y is up for sale is because of the belief that the downtown apartment buildings in the area will pull potential members away from the Y. The apartment's facilities are for walkers and coffee sippers. They do not offer anywhere close to the workout options and experience the T.Boone offers.
I hear that our membership participation is roughly 50% pre-covid. I believe there are several reasons for this:
1. The T.Boone was the LAST workout facility to open the wet areas which are a very big draw. No other facility can compete.
2. The lady's wet areas are closed other than the showers.
3. The Y looks like it's about to close. Lights burned out, peeling paint, poor cleaning and sanitation, etc.
4. Ever heard of a "Self-fulfilling prophesy"? We (the members) have heard of a potential sale of the Y for years. Of course, people will not join if they think the Y is going to be closing soon.
I could go on but you know most of this. So, I have a challenge to the Y board and management:
1. I saw recently where the Y gave $250K for student's scholarships. Why not, just this once, take care of the ones that made that possible. Conduct a capital campaign to repair the Y and bring it back to it's glory and possibly suspend scholarships for a season and rebuild the Y.
2. Raise membership rates and make more people pay their fare share. I am all about taking care of those that need financial help, but please, get the homeless people out,
3. COMMIT TO CURRENT MEMBERS AND POTENTIAL MEMBERS THAT THE T.BOONE Y WILL BE THERE FOR THEM.
Thanks,
Gary Brown
