need more 10 lb barbell weights downstairs - they are shared by 6 weight bars and have to barter for them

Folks on their phones sitting on machines a MAJOR PROBLEM - kinda tires of being the weight room police person - any way to stop this and allow others to work in while people catch up on their Tik Tok videos?

What do you like about your membership at the Moody Family YMCA experience?

After swimming for a long time, about 5 years ago at the Moody I tore my right rotator cuff. I have been trying to get back in the water ever since.

Last week I begin lessons with Hector. He is an amazing coach. He got in the water with me to see what I was doing. Never had a coach at Moody get in the water with me.

I am discovering it makes a difference. During that first meeting I learned it was probably my back stroke that caused the tear. He is working with with me to acquire a better, safer backstroke, as well as help me with my freestyle: better breathing techniques, improvements to my stroke and help with keeping my body aligned in the water.

Now I feel I may soon be back in the water, swimming laps. Never had such a good coach. I cannot tell you in words how much it means to me to have such a talented, caring, and skillful young coach work with me. So happy to have this opportunity with a coach whose knowledge and understanding seems way beyond his years.

lots of gym equipment, clean locker rooms, clean gym, friendly staff, good parking, excellent value for membership price. will never go to a private gym again

Jacob was awesome! He was hands on with the kiddos and helped the parent navigate and troubleshoot. The classes were a great introduction for our 9-month old little guy. He started the lessons with a hefty dose of skepticism and ended with a smile and a few laughs.

I’ve only just begun my membership at Moody Family YMCA and so far my experience has been fantastic! I attribute this to the people I’ve encountered at the facility. Both the staff and the members have been genuinely kind, warm, friendly, and helpful. Additionally, I really enjoy the variety of fitness classes that are offered. So far, I’ve taken Dance Fitness, BodyPump, and Gentle Yoga - and all have been great! Thank you for providing a place at which to focus on health and wellness safely and comfortably. I look forward to continuing my fitness journey at the Moody Family YMCA.

Coaches Ross and Charles are exceptional. Kind, knowledgeable, engaging, respectful of the kids and add just the right amount of humor. The facility is very nice and so many good kids and parents.

Juan is a great swim teacher! He is kind and has a calm energy that makes the kids feel confident. We used to go to Jim Montgomery Swim School but none of the instructors was as good as Juan. Hold onto him!!

What do you like about your membership at the Moody Family YMCA experience?

Convenient; competitive pricing; always clean; hours of operation; and helpful and pleasant employees. What I DON'T LIKE is the TVs on the stationary bikes are often broken. Why management cannot get the provider fix the issue PERMANENTLY is beyond me. Wiring is ALWAYS exposed so anything can happen to the connection. Thw wiring needs to be secured. This is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed.

Moody Family YMCA is an absolute gem! It all started as a run-down gym, but now it’s a vibrant community hub with all the great amenities you could ever want.
