Clean locker rooms and pools, good classes, friendly people
Instructor was great with the kids!
Very friendly atmosphere.
Super relaxed atmosphere. Not nearly as crowded as other gyms. Very pleasant and accommodating staff.
Friendly staff and clean environment. There used to be more leg equipment. I wish they would get back a couple of the machines.
Staff was friendly and helpful - we came right after a thunderstorm, and the front desk warned me that the pool was closed until it passed, so I may not want to get my toddler psyched up for swimming. I appreciated the heads up so that we wouldn't have to wait all dressed and ready to go.
Early opening. I work out, have a cup of coffee with new-found friends then workout some more. I do not use free weights so your machines are good for me. Your female employees are hardworking yet friendly.
I like that they have an evening water aerobics class!! They also keep the pool area clean
Family friendly atmosphere in all the areas:
- reception (a friendly welcome),
- kids zone - staff engaging with kids rather than just letting them play
- fitness area - staff do their best to maintain a clean facility while also upholding appropriate gym etiquette
Throughly enjoy the aquatic classes and both pools. The instructors are friendly and provide a good workout. It's also a great place to meet new people who enjoy similar activities.
I enjoy going to the Visser YMCA. Once I am done for the week, it is nice to go and see my friends
here. I work nationwide. This Y had a better connectedness for some reason. The staff are friendly and helpful to get the right programs in place to help you succeed. I play baseball and need certain exercises to excell. They have a great selection. Then the pool area is always nice and the life guards are top notch. I brought my children here growing up so they would know how to swim. Now my daughter is a lifeguard. My youngest daughter is following in her footsteps and can swim faster than me. Thank you for all you do! I enjoy talking to the front desk. Lindsay has been so kind. We can share stories about what the other YMCA's are like. Furthermore, Master Tom is great in Tae kwon Do. The kids are learning fast thanks to his instruction.
It is conveniently close to home and most of the staff are friendly !
My wife and I only use the pools and hot tub at the Visser YMCA. She does water aerobics and enjoys the variety of instructors and the camaraderie. I enjoy swimming laps in a pool with designated lap only lanes. Its nice to have different temperatures for the lap pool(78) and the aerobics/family pool(86). We also appreciate the cleanliness of the pool, shower and locker room areas. Plenty of life guards.
Group classes are challenging and contribute to an increased level of fitness that I wouldn’t get on my own.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming. All of them greet me, and a few by name, before I sign in for my work out.
Large facility and the staff is super friendly cheerful. Everyone staff and members a like are friendly knowledgeable helpful kind and considerate. I enjoy coming to the y be I don’t feel self conscious about my large not so perfect body. However side note I’m get strong every day endurance is through the food and clothing is fitting much better. So I am extremely pleased with the Visser Family YMCA.
Healthy clean atmosphere centered around being healthy. Thank you.
Everyone is so friendly, and ready to help if you need it.
Pickle ball!! And the front desk is so wonderful!!
Easy access. I liked the water aerobic instructors.
We love visser YMCA. The people are friendly. The pool staff is awesome—attentive and hard working. The water is warm. We usually love it. Our most recent visit, however, was really overwhelming. The pool was the busiest we’ve ever seen it. There were people everywhere and tons of classes. We completely understand having swimming lessons, but it looked like there were 6 or so classes happening at the same time. This made it really hard to use the pool for anything else. Perhaps stagger swim lesson times so that there are only three lessons at a time so there is space for regular people too. (We’ve never run into this before so maybe it was an accident, but it was CRAZY in there.) Also, the water was the dirtiest we’ve ever seen. There was tons of hair in the water, and it felt gross on our skin. P.S. the lifeguard and staff were really good even though there were so many people. The pool had more guards watching. The teachers were trying hard to not get in people’s way and were friendly. It was just hard to be in the water with so much going on.
I love it
My favorite thing about the Visser location is the periods of low traffic. Being able to stick to a schedule is essential, so being able to get in and use the machines is very important.
friendly employees, almost always open equipment, great water aerobic instructors
Staff is very helpful and friendly. Enjoy the size of this club. Very nice pools and really enjoy the steam room, locker rooms and showers are clean and tidy. Location is very convenient when I am on that side of town.

Love the classes. I wish they had one more step class a week in the morning. An advanced step class would be cool.
I really really appreciate the kid care.
The size of baseball rec in prek is way too large. It seems EVERY coach I have watched struggles (even with assistance). Even 1 more team would have helped maybe two. Also your coordinator who also did basketball classes is seems to be unprepared or late a lot. We have had days where no equipment show up, the metals were late just last week, and multiple days when we were doing basketball that he showed up almost 40 minutes late a few times. So while I give Visser YMCA nine, I give the kids leagues in classes about a six. Being a stay at home mom I have the ability to have flex with my schedule but there were several families there that would have to leave only having half a class or only getting portion of their kids play time at league. Especially at the leagues because you have to worry about the games going overtime when the games are so close together in time perhaps they should be separated by 15 minutes just some thoughts to improve it for next time.
