The East Area Y is a welcoming place with a hugely diverse population where peoples of all ages and backgrounds co-mingle to play and enhance their physical and mental health. Many languages can be heard and enjoyed. Friends can easily be made, and social barriers can be broken. The many programs and diverse activities are open to all to be enjoyed. I've only been a member for about a month or so and honestly haven't even used much of the services offered (yet). Still, it's been such a huge help to drop my toddler off at Child Watch while I get caught up on reading and have time to myself in the lobby. It also helps that my daughter loves going to Child Watch so much. All of the staff that we've met so far have been so nice and welcoming too, I only regret not joining earlier on when she was smaller. We're going to be signing up for some classes soon that I know she'll enjoy, I'm especially looking forward to seeing how she likes the toddler cooking class.
My original membership was based on the fact that I love to swim. I have been attending the aquatic classes (in the lap pool) several times a week. However, I'm not impressed with the instructors and wish that SANDYJO was still teaching Zumba. The instructors carry on conversations with specific class attendees which delays instruction. I find this very unprofessional and irritating. I use the exercise equipment once or twice a week (before noon) and appreciate the quantity and availability of treadmills and bikes. I've also taken advantage of classes in the group exercise room; my favorite is POUND. I also attend Forever Fit virtually, when I'm able to. I was thrilled that I didn't have to put my membership on hold when I was away over the summer. Attending POUND and Forever Fit virtually from my screened in porch was the BEST!
Excellent instructors…Friendly employees and members.
Senior programs, senior exercise classes, the staff is friendly, and this Y is kept very clean.
There is something offered for everyone, especially young teens and kids.
I enjoy the people who work there and the classes and instructors.
I go to the Wetzel road Y. Much smaller but closer to my home in NO Syracuse. I visited your Y with a friend of mine- Her husband goes to clear path on Wednesday's. We will be coming to your place most Wednesday's.
Beautiful place.
The stools in the locker room are not great for older people changing clothes from swimming-- or changing boots to shoes. Should be a few areas with a bench but room was clean.
Ty for the great experience .
