I like that there are both land and water activities and programs for all types of people. I like how long the lap pool is available.
I like your friendly staff. Mikko is one of my favorites.
I mainly do the gym area, but the yoga class (with Nancy) is one of my favorites.
If I could change anything it would be to have a warmer pool It's just too cool for my old bones.
very good instructors
Friendly staff, accessible pool and exercise room, lots of classes
Such a great variety and availability of classes. And the equipment is in good shape
This why has such great people I especially like the class with Sheri the senior fitness class
Great classes Gym and pool
All these teenage kids that have been going into gym and sit on machines typing taking time away from other members that would like to use the equipment they are just using to sit on,
Good Variety
huge variety for all ages
For the most part, the instructors challenge participants to aim for the next level of one’s workout. Yet, they caution us to listen to our bodies and adjust when necessary. The instructors are well trained and are very knowledgeable about the benefits that their workout provides.
I especially like your Tai Chi class. These are hard to find and Hung is an excellent instructor.
All I use is the weights and a little pool time.
Great setup, great combination of activities and variety of options.
Like the availability of swimming lessons and access to team swim. Like the availability of programs for families to have a variety of options for extension.
Hours, variety, cleanliness, and the staff are extremely helpful and so nice yet very professional!
Gym is most balanced out of the South Bay YMCAs. Good amount of free weights and cardio machines. Classes are fun and employees are nice.
Weight room and e-gym. Cleanliness of facilities. Reasonable hours (though 10pm would be even better).
I think your program is good for kid and your instructors teach and take care of kids very nice. Thank you very much.
Even though a single senior, I like the community involvement of our Y and feel it is one aspect of building good foundations for our children. In some small way, I feel I am contributing to that.

Swimming instructors are really dedicated on making a comfortable environment even for toddlers that can be challenging. Very grateful for YMCA
Central YMCA is usually my go-to Y. However, lately they've been having quite a bit of troubles with their facility, especially the pools. Added to my daughter's summer swim practice schedule, I now go to South Valley more often. Most things are working well and that's a great relief. The folks are nice too. There is but one complaint: often the music at the pool is too loud. Specifically, for some one wearing a cap cover his ears, even mid-level volume would sound loud, and there are days even with my cap off, the music is loud. I get lifeguarding can be quite boring, but my ears are hurting. If possible:
* lower the volume, and/or
* point the speakers towards the back walls and the gate
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
I like how there are 90 min for childcare, I like the passport program, I like the swimming class discount for members, I like the instructors at the south hills ymca
We've only done swimming lessons so far, and I've mostly been pleased with them. We did three sets of lessons last year and will be doing three this year as well. At our first set this year, the instructor was GREAT, but then she went on vacation half way through and we had different instructors for the last 4 lessons, which made them inconsistent and not as motivating for my daughter. At the current set she is in, the instructor is not very engaging -- at least not as much as her other instructors have been. I also don't think he is really aware of her swimming capabilities, at least not as much as I think he should be. He recommended that she continue with the same level for our next set, but she swims every day and has already exceeded the level of expectation of the current class she is in. I'm disappointed that he doesn't seem aware of that at all. However, my daughter loves to go to swim lessons and always enjoys her time there, which is a definite plus. I wish the classes were longer, too. 40 minutes seems too short to get much done, especially with 5 or 6 children and only one instructor. But I would recommend (and DO recommend) swim lessons at the Y to others because they've been quite positive for us.
I like please is clean sefe and staff a so nice frenly they make as we are home with friends and thank you for work hard
use the gym and like how it is not too busy and calm crowd. would love to see the addition of some new equipment - hack squat (or v squat), t bar row, etc
I love the pool and the variety of exercise classes. I am not in the best shape so I'm able to select classes that will help me get in better shape and have identified classes I want to take when I "graduate" from the current group. I appreciate that! I do wish you had night aqua aerobics though.

Convenient and not too expensive
