Member Testimonials
Swim masters, friendly guests and staff
The Central Y has been a welcoming place for me as a new comer to San Jose. I have been here almost two years and have had my membership for about a year and half. I feel right at home at Central. The classes I go to most often are yoga; I love Monday morning with Amy, Thursday with Daniel, Tuesday and Sunday with Heidi. I also like Phenix's class and Allysons class but don't get to them as much due to my schedule. I am sure the rest are great, these are just the classes I have made it to and keep coming back.
I like the outside pool area work out opportunity as well, and of course the indoor, outdoor pool, sauna and whirlpool.
I also love seeing all the families that are able to find great recreation at the Y. I know there are some problems with he structure, but the staff and membership are great!
fun , fit with all levels, ages
Water aerobics
I like all sports as an activity that you provided for all ages in Ymca.
Thank you 🙏
I like the flexibility. They have a wide variety of activities that I can choose from at times that are convenient for me. Also the instructors seem genuinely interested in both my getting a good productive workout and that I enjoy myself.
aquasize!
Prefer to have more classes at night.
I like swimming classes. But I think that coach doesn’t always pay attention to all kids. Sometimes I notice he tries to pay more attention to kids who are easier to teach. I think they must pay equal attention to all kids.
Good quality swim education at a reasonable rate. Great teachers and wonderful facility.
My daughter LOVES her swim class and is getting more comfortable in the water.
Great staff understanding teachers
Swim lessons are conducted professionally, I like the mid-term feedback, and coaches are all enthusiastic and engaged.
I like the hot tub and sauna. I am always greeted warmly by name when I come in. there is lots of equipment to use.
Trainer is amazing. Kids are loving it
everything, the staff is amazing, my son enjoys the facilities to the fullest because there is always someone nice to help us
Aqua classes. Wish there were more though.
Sports
The programs and classes are great. The instructors are all well trained. I was just informed last Friday during the stretch class that Angie wants to move it upstairs to the Yoga room. Not a good ideal due to the Yoga room being to small for how popular her class is. Also most of participance take the following class Land Fitness which will make it hard to get a spot in the class since it is so popular.
Staff here is friendly and more helpful than other local YMCAs in the area. The Kids Club is outstanding, the staff really cares about your kids and enjoys being with them. The swim coaches that give group lessons are also outstanding.
Front desk staff is friendly. Registration is smooth. Thanks.
I love the group exercise classes and adding more classes would be a bonus. Having more times frames available for classes would yield more community participation that would lead to a healthier community.
Lots of variety in classes and days/times. Would love to have a U Jam class added. Used to have, and other Ys offer.
There are many choices.
