Kids get outside, food seems to be nutritious, daughter reports all adult staff are kind and caring
Most importantly my child LOVES attending afterschool. They help with homework on the days they can and she even ask me to pick her up later than normal just so she can finish an art project they are working on. The counselors are great, very involved and truly get to know the children . The Weaverville site has been great! My youngest is so excited to join her older sister at that site next year.
I love that most of the camp leaders actually interact with the kids, I rarely have issues with my child not wanting to be there or feeling like she has no one to play with. One of her favorite group leaders even reads her library books with her and she loves it so much

The all year program is a life saver for me. I’m a working mom. Between school days ending at 2:30, teacher work days, holiday breaks.. it can be really hard.
YMCA has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She has really enjoyed it.

I appreciate all that you guys offer. From amazing staff who truly cares about their students to being able to text or call with any questions or concerns. Everytime I talk to a counselor it’s like taking to a friend. They really make everyone feel so comfortable. I believe actions are louder than words. Ever since my daughter started, Maddie has been a house hold name. I have been asked on multiple occasions to “please don’t pick me up early so I can hangout at the y”. You guys are the best. From the bottom of my heart thank you so much ♥️
It’s free so single parents like myself are able to work and provide for our children without having to worry about paying for either childcare so we can work vs how will we be able to eat. Along with my daughter enjoys the different clubs that are offered
We absolutely love the YMCA after school program at North Buncombe Elementary. Our child is very well taken care and looks forward to being able to spend time with friends and counselors everyday. We wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

We love the after school program! It works out great for our schedules and the kids always have fun in YMCA. The schools out days and summer camps are great too!
I love that all kids are included and all ages get time to play together. The coordinators this year have been very responsive, communicative and supportive of both my questions and issues that come up with my kiddo.
The convenience and staff
My daughter loves the program because she gets to spend time with her friends, it helps me out so much with my job as well when I can't get to the school to get my daughter out at 3:00, and they also provide a snack for the kids which is awesome and my daughter is getting the time to exercise and play. All the things I have said are so many things that makes this program awesome and there staff is amazing as well, if I could sign my daughter up every year for this I would and will!! Thank you to all who have provided this program for busy parents it's amazing!

I would love it if I did not have to enroll in the summer program on new year's day.
My kids are cared for and happy in aftercare. I trust that the staff are attentive and kind.
My son loves the YMCA after-school program, and as a parent, that means everything to me. The staff truly cares about the kids they’re encouraging, attentive, and make every child feel included. He enjoys the activities, gets a chance to burn energy, learn new things, and build friendships. I feel completely confident knowing he’s in a safe, fun, and supportive place. Highly recommend the YMCA afterschool to any parent looking for a great after-school option!
I like the onsite availability for my daughter to walk from her classroom to aftercare. She loves the arts and crafts based activities. Keep up the great work!
I like how students work on cooperation and fairness. They also have to problem solve when things don’t necessarily go their way. I also appreciate that they get to be leaders to the younger children. Lastly, I like how students work on creative projects.
I like that pickup isn’t until 6pm and I like that school out days are covered also. It is helpful to single working parents that depend on childcare to be able to work. The staff are friendly and great with the kids at North Buncombe.
