I liked the instructor Randy. He was great. He had a lovely sense of humour and made everyone feel comfortable and accepted.
What I didn't like was seeing a half naked male yogi sitting in front of Randy. It was impossible not to see him if you wanted to see what Randy was demonstrating. I felt this yogi was not respectful of the others in the room who, like me, may not wish to look at someone's sweaty flesh for an hour and a quarter.
I encourage you to have a dress and etiquette code so that staff are able to speak to yogis who are not respectful of others. In my 15 years of yoga practice at various places, including hot yoga, I've never seen this. Similarly if a woman was dressed inappropriately, I would find that disrespectful as well.

Close to home
The instructors are knowledgeable, highly competent yogas who lead with clarity, understanding and empathy. In addition, the Granville Island settings my personal favorite with the 2nd floor studio having a beautiful outlook over False Creek. Reception staff are very helpful and our experience is consistently positive.
It is disappointing to have an extraordinary instructor, all of the sudden, removed from a class without any notice nor reason given to students, just to put a "new" trainee instead.
Even worst to see how good instructors are left with so little classes to offer.
It seems that Semperviva's business's focus is not really in yoga students but most likely in training people to become yoga teachers and is there where their attention and care is geared to.

It was my first time back to yoga post baby and I felt like I was able to take it my pace without any pressure. Clean facility and great teacher.

To yoga because we are all so close together but I think there should be a studio policy about smoking. My husband and I came to our first class on Sunday, which was very busy, and the older man next to us absolutely reeked or stale cigarettes. The smell was in his clothes and it was clear that his clothes weren’t clean because of the overwhelming smell. It was very distracting for my husband and me. We could hardly focus on what we were supposed to be learning.
Could you please put up a sign to say this is a scent free space so please don’t wear clothes that have been exposed to perfume and smokers please ensure their studio clothes have not been exposed to smoke. These strong scents linger and can disturb other yogis.

City centre yoga is fabulous - hands down. The flow to get into and out of the studio works. It just feels right for me.

If there is a baby yoga class, it would be nice for it to be a bit longer after the class previous finishes. It's very overwhelming to step out of class to 10 strollers and babies crying, as well as no place to sit to put shoes on because all the room has been taken.
Great facilities. So far I've only had one class but the instructor as great too. Professional, kind, understandable, calm. It was a pleasure taking a class from Ashley. And the people at the front desk are great too- helpful and friendly.
