My son loves the YMCA camp! He is usually very shy and reserved and after the first day of something, he doesn’t want to go back. That definitely wasn’t the case this time - he was looking forward to going back and seeing his new friends he met. We will definitely be back next year.
(PS - I wish the counselors would upload pictures!)
The program provides an healthy Avenue towards what will become competition. Right now, while the kids are young, it is best to be driven towards holding yourself, your team and the other team up.
The families, coaches, staff and mission of YMCA
Don't know much about them just yet
It's just a very enjoyable place to go, workout and meet new people. Plus a very friendly staff
Convenient schedule
Youth baseball for beginners is great to watch. The format is designed to teach the basics to young players. The coaches are great and the kids really enjoy themselves. Each week we see improvement. Highly recommend this program.
Very thing. Would like like more aqua boot camps and silver sneakers classical classes
Such a good variety of exercise classes and all the instructors are friendly and knowledgeable and lead a great workout regardless of fitness level!
friendly staff and good machines
Enthusiastic camp leaders and fun activities for the kids. Especially love the opportunity for them to swim. Thanks!
I love the new showers! So much better than Southwest Y. Southwest Y women’s locker room needs to get their faucets worked on, sooooo slow! Armbrust is great!
Love the group fitness classses. Would love later option classes as well. Also the class sizes tend to be big, would love smaller class sizes.
Like the Silver Sneakers. I need to try a few different classes that are offered.
Parking is horrible!
I usually just do the cardio machines and weights. I have started using a trainer and am happy with his ability to deal with an injury I have and work with it.
I like the laid back atmosphere at the Y. I used to go to the "lifetime" type gyms but the Y fits me better now. I have convinced my sister to join the Y once the Gretna opens.
Camp has kept my child entertained and active everyday. Huge bonus, they've made it easy for my normally shy child to jump right in and have fun.
The instructors are knowledgeable and there are activities for all ages. However, there should be a more detailed description posted on each of the group activities.
The community and atmosphere is the absolute best! Group Fitness is 100% what i like best about this place along with the friendly customer service!! Truly feels like an oasis in today's society! YMCA Armbrust is the place where I feel most comfortable and secure!
I the teacher is polite ,funny, not pushie , she is very helpful . The locker room is clean I enjoy going to this ymca I’m glad I started this class I will have to change things when school starts as I work in the school system overall I’m a happy new lady to this y an this class thank you
I love that there are so many classes to pick from throughout the day!
We love the variety of classes offered at Armbrust. Our home gym, Southwest, continues to cut out yoga classes and now they don't even offer Sunrise Yoga on Fridays. We travel to Armbrust for Yoga on Thursdays, Saturday, and Sunday. The instructors are very good at Armbrust and have higher difficultly levels and we like that. Lisa (Saturday morning Yoga) is easily the best Yoga class instructor and class that we do. She is very good at planning it out so that one area of the body is not worked exclusively, to make a more comprehensive class. Each week we do different things, including focusing on balance, stretching and sun salutations. I really appreciate the planning that Lisa puts into her classes because we are old now (ha ha). We need things to be broken up sometimes (in terms of core work, balancing, and holding poses longer) and the way she gets a comprehensive session each week is really helpful. We never do everything all at once so that we are so sore that we cannot continue. I cant say enough positive about Saturday AM Yoga with Lisa. Lisa L on Sundays/Thursdays is also someone we enjoy seeing and she provides a good Yoga class as well. Lisa L is someone that we used to see at the SW location, but for some reason they quit offering Friday morning Sunrise yoga. The front desk staff (and really anyone at Armbrust that we have asked for help) are very engaged and helpful when needed. The only drawback about Armbrust for us is that its further than our home gym. However, based on difficulty and the instructors and classes offered (including Yoga!), we will travel there because its such a good experience and workout.
I like the variety of activities!
The kids rave everyday about how much fun they have. I think the swim option and variety of activities are making it a program that they enjoy.
Love how the kids have a full day of activities and different activities weekly. They are exhausted at the end of the day. They emojis making new friends during the summer. The counselors have been very nice and welcoming to them as well. Well organized program, Makenzie does a great job!!
Love it
I appreciate the friendliness of the staff at the main desk. I appreciate the clean facilities. I enjoy family swim with my grandson. I enjoy swimming laps. I appreciate the comfortable and welcoming environment of Armbrust YMCA.
Just fabulous!
There’s a good variety of group programs, the instructors are very talented and are very encouraging.
I love the smaller class sizes. The one on one interaction is very important at young ages for learning. Makes the kids feel recognized and special.

Tom is a great director to have and runs a very organized program.
