My family and I have been members of the South Oakland Y for many years. We appreciate all of the ways that the local community is supported and brought together by the many programs, staff and members that belong. There is a strong sense of togetherness that can be seen and felt while at the Y.

The e-gym, the spin class with Josh, and a few other weight machines are my favorites at the YMCA. I have always enjoyed the family atmosphere at the YMCA and the customer service and the cleanest of the facility..
So far I’ve just taken group fitness and lap swim! It’s been a great experience and the childcare is awesome to have for my schedule!
Enough equipment so no wait time. Very clean.

I love the diversity and inclusiveness of the people who are at the Y, including patrons and staff. I am participating in some of the classes now, and they are excellent (Older Adults Strength...). I do wish there was another free weight training class for women (like years ago), but flexibly geared toward a range of abilities.
