The E Gym is Great!
My wife and I enjoy coming to the Y and participating in the classes that are offered. I also enjoy playing pickleball in the gym. We really need more courts if the building of the new Y is being planned.
Staff, avalibility, cleanliness
Friendly welcoming staff and patrons, love the community vibe! Has everything: classes, gym, pool, group sports, family/children activities. Very happy with my membership!!
Very great customer service. The building is a little older but the amenities are good. Has a nice pool and gym/track. The wellness center has all that you need!
Parking lot is safer than some other health clubs.
So far this YMCA branch is clean on the inside and during warmer weather it appears clean on the outside grounds. The class offerings are good, though I may not be able to take advantage of classes due to my work schedule. The staff who work the front desk are pleasant and helpful.
Things that bother me at another fitness entity that I hope do not ever become issues at this or any YMCA location are extremely loud talking (not necessary), profane language (a violation of other people’s right not to hear it), nastily kept locker and pool areas, grounds littered with trash while the workers sit around instead exhibiting care for the business grounds/facility by picking up trash to maintain a clean appearance.
So, so far and I hope never, the Royal Oak Y is good.
The Y on 11 Mile Road in Royal Oak is very clean and everything is well maintained. Along with a variety of classes offered, the convenient hours and plentiful exercise equipment ensure that you can always get a good workout. Joining the Y is one of the best things we've done for our health.
It's clean, diverse crowd and I love the variety of exercises, especially the Egym machines.
Classes
Friendly people. Appreciate the diversity of the membership. Love that babysitting is available. Appreciate that our Medicare supplement gives us free membership. Appreciate the down to earth nature of the place and people. It’s not all lululemon and lattes.
Most of the time I’m 65 years old and I can’t get in the swimming pool sometime, but I hope that changes soon
I like that it's family friendly facility. I can exercise while my teenager plays basketball.
Great friendly place to exercise. All staff professional and excellent teachers (I attend yoga classes)
nice complex, very convenient to visit with family. friendly staff. very nice new exercise machines in the gym. the only thing I don't like is that there is a changing room for the family, but everyone who wants to change in it, that is, men and women who came without children and for some reason do not go to their separate changing rooms

Everyone from the front desk in is very friendly. The locker rooms are always clean and there is always an ample supply of sanitizer for the machines.
