We enjoy our time at the Y. The staff are terrific and the members friendly.
Great location and friendly staff. I would caution a friend, however, that the therapeutic pool is often cool and closes due to staffing issues over the less used lap pool.

I really enjoy the classes I take with Izzy Phillips (Cross-train and Strength on Saturdays).
I felt very welcome, and everyone there was so kind! I am a beginner swimmer when it comes to just doing laps, and everyone in the pool was so great with giving me tips, even though I was nervous about swimming with everyone else!

While I wish the outdoor pool was operable, and that there were more lap swim times, I'm grateful for your presence in the area.
I love the community feeling that I have gained from joining the Birmingham Y a few months ago. As a recent Birmingham boomarang resident, it can be tough to find your people in a new neighborhood, but all of the wellness classes and the instructors have been extremely welcoming and drive the attendees of their classes to be the same.
Even better, for me, I can walk to and from the center which adds another level of accessibility and connectedness for me.
Jaime is fantastic teacher. Very patient and caring for elder classes.

Opportunity to build community with class participants. Flexibility with regard to payment when we are out of town re vacation or work. Opportunity to do social things together outside of the class.

From the time I just the downriver YMCA. They have been the most friendly and professional group I’ve ever known. Always kind and informative. Definitely a 10 out of 10.
Convenient and good classes for older adults.
If you are interested in water aerobics, the program at the Macomb YMCA cannot be found anywhere else in the area!!! A multitude of classes every week . I can’t even explain how beneficial these classes have been to my health. Incredible!

I liked it better when you negotiated with silver sneakers and I didn't have to submit the payment. That was a lot more convenient

Love the pool, the classes, and the updated shower fixtures.
The instructors (Lynda) and her classes. They have inspired me to exercise regularly. I also use the bike/treadmill/weight machine room two days a week. The front desk staff is also great (especially Mary). I do wish the parking lot had greater capacity, especially in the summer.
