Member Testimonials
Great fitness center and classes! Everyone in Salem should be a member!
Great people!
Friendly and welcoming environment.
The kids club makes it so we can still actually make it to the gym -- and it helps us meet other people with similar aged children for play dates. The beginner swim classes are quite good.
Friendly , clean
My baby can be more dependent, the program help him to talk and to have friends in his age.
The staff is so friendly and the community so welcoming.
Pauline’s water aerobic classes, over the last 9ish years, since retirement, have restored my healthy body. Had no idea that was even possible. Thank you for maintaining optimal classes for Pauline to do her magic!
Good location (if a little "parking-challenged") with a variety of offerings. The pool is a little tiny, but the fitness center has a great quantity and variety of types of equipment and machines. Very clean and well-kept.
Great classes. Friendly clients and staff.
Convenient, great machines and people
Camaraderie among members.
The pool, the pool, the pool!
Aquaerobics with Jacquie V has been a game changer for my physical and mental health. For the first time in my life I'm spending time at the gym without constantly checking the clock. Beyond the health benefits of the class, I appreciate the community Jacquie builds with her students. Wrapping up each lesson with a few minutes in the dry sauna is the icing on the cake.
Clean, Friendly, good equipment.
I like the facility, it's never too crowded and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It's just sometimes hard to find parking.
Nice, clean, well-appointed facility with friendly, helpful staff!
Some of the best teachers: Beth Schultz (Salem Y) is encouraging, engaging, and very knowledgeable. Her Rowing and Conditioning classes are so enjoyable, as is her !
Jen Brehob: Swimming coach: Tuesdays/Thursdays 5:30: M'Head Y is fantastic. So enthusiastic and again very knowledgeable, She brings enjoyment to swimming and always brings her A game. She changes the routine often and generally just a fun instructor.
I used to take Abbie's circuit training class religiously on Weds/Fridays at 5:30A (M'Head Y). She is often difficult to hear, her classes never start on time and she usually is going thru the circuit of exercises after 5:30A and often attendees have questions, so the class starts even later. Her class last Thursday was very disorganized. It's unfortunate, these days and times work for me. I'd like to see this class improve, and I would take more often.
Such a happy place that offers something for everyone. The little children must love to go to the Y I don't see a lot of fussing. The parents can get a break to work out. So what is not to love.
On another note to I would like to see more bicycles at the facility because I have always had a problem with driving to a workout for myself but aleast l'm aware and hopefully will start riding there soon.
Small, friendly place to exercise. Easy to get a lane in the pool.
Great staff!
I like that the Y is so close to me. I walk over for the classes.
Basic Yoga and Chair a yoga classes have been really good for my wife and I.
I would like to see a Tai Chi class back to Salem.
Thank the staff for all their hard work.
The strictly strength trainers are awesome. I'm a 75 year old and they are accepting of what I can do, challenging to grow stronger, a good sense of physiology, and often just plain funny. The participants are generally younger and impressive, congenial and just great to be around.
I’m loving the variety of classes and everyone who works at the Salem Y is so kind and helpful!
Love how Swim lessons are offered, curriculum is aged appropriate, and the teachers wonderful.
I like this place, always is clean and the service is very good
Our son seems to enjoy going each day!
The variety of classes and the instructors, especially Beth Schultz. She is the reason I go to the Y on a regular basis.
Amazing diversity and availability

Good people
