Water aerobics and water jogging are terrific! However communication among staff and members is often lacking.

Stronger body , stronger mind
After speaking with Leighann this morning she meticulously outlined how my areas of concern were going to be addressed. I’m appreciative of her time and patience. I will take her (and support her) at her word in that these areas will be taken care of. That said, I would then be most comfortable in giving the Lakewood Y a “10” and recommending the facility to others.
The machines I use for my workouts are there. I’m very grateful they are and are available to me.

The pool
Very nice people at desk the desk to welcome us everyday. The also notice us when we leave and tell us goodbye. Great aquatic teachers. We’re like a family. Teachers are friends to everyone as well as good teachers.
Gym
Staff were great and activities were athletic and entertaining.
My grandson said it’s because they are fun and he agreed with me that the coaches can make or break it… there has always been one coach that he really likes and responds to. We appreciate having a place that we feel is safe. Gives him something fun and constructive to do during the summer to get him off the couch and off his electronics and in a social setting to meet kids and make friends.
Kids enjoy the diversity of the sports program. Instructors work well with the kids.
My daughter is wrapping up her 4th summer attending the Sports camp at the Lakewood Y. She has a blast every summer, looks forward to seeing her camp friends, knows the "coaches" and the program keeps her active. My daughter is happy and camp is very affordable. We recommend the summer Sports Camp to everyone with elementary aged kiddos.
Flexible hours, variety of activities
The Lakewood YMCA has been fantastic in supporting my daughter through her first swimming experiences. Not everyone can provide support that toddler's require and that makes parents feel comfortable. Not only do I see my daughter learning the fundamentals of swimming, but her instructor has taken the time to ensure that she strengthens her listening skills. In addition, I think the YMCA is providing the best price in town for swimming. 100% would recommend to any parent considering starting their kids in swimming lessons.
