I love everything about the YMCA. Very organized and friendly environment
You can exercise any way you prefer!
The Perry YMCA offers so many classes for fitness along with the use of the gym. I have Silver Sneakers. It provides seniors with wonderful opportunities to stay fit!!
Fun sports
The Perry Y seems to have programs for all ages and physical abilities. The facilities are very well maintained and have almost any type of exercise you'd want. Several advisors are available for personal coaching. I especially like that the facility is so clean and inviting.
Like the people i come in contact with, lots of extra activities good instructers
Silver Sneakers is a great program and Denise is an excellent instructor.
The silver sneakers
I like the group exercise classes and the ability to use the pool. As well as taking advantage of the care center. It allows me to work out while knowing my kids are safe and close.
Both gyms, the Silver Sneakers our instructors!
The coffee! Our luncheons. Making new friends. I love it all!!
Active older adults exercising and plckleball
I don’t feel bored or anxious in the treadmill because I can wAtch the news which cuts my TV time at home.
The coffe bar and chairs that allow me yo just relax looking at the pool or just the outside after workout.
The convenient paper towels and cleaners of seats then I do wt.
Good parking, And overall cleanliness is important to me
The belief in God
Getting together with friends to play cards and usually we can get a room out of the main traffic area and away from all the activity. Which make our activity much more enjoyable.
I also enjoy playing pickleball with friends there.
The hours the Y is open and the equipment
Great y
Friendly instructors and staff. Variety of activities. Clean, well kept facility.
My husband and I especially enjoy the AOA classes taught by Debbie Phillips. She keeps us coming back. There is another instructor, who we like very much and is a very nice person, but we don't enjoy her classes. She is all about innumerable reps and "Go for the burn!" She doesn't seem to realize when you're in your 70's and 80's, as many of us are, that your body doesn't snap back from the "burn" or over exercising with weights. She probably would be a great Body Pump instructor. We and other members have skipped class if we know she will be teaching. Her water exercise class consists mostly of swimming laps, which you could do on your own. Since I don't swim, they're not that beneficial to me. My husband started going to the Smith Y where there is a more structured exercise program.
Debbie's classes work on all the muscle groups and she pushes us to do all we can, but in a way more appropriate for seniors. Since she has been out sick there were 2 instructors, Kelly and Karen, whose programs were more in line with hers - for Active OLDER adults. We hope to have them back when Debbie is not available.
Overall, we really enjoy coming to the Perry Y because we live in League City. We enjoy the sense of community and have made friends.
I like the interaction with the people that frequent Perry!
We love the swim classes, the family fun pool, and the Zumba classes!! The childcare is also top notch. My son loves going to the YMCA!
We have a Silver Sneakers benefit with our insurance coverage and really appreciate the way all the wonderful employees there smile and great us each time, always wishing us a good day.
Everything at the facility is always clean, it's spacious with lots of openness and has up to date equipment and also a nice coffee bar available with tables and chairs to relax at.
Although we only use the exercise equipment in the main area, there are some other programs available for senior adults to take advantage of.
My husband and I would highly recommend this facility and encourage anyone interested to give it a try.
I love the new machines and the friendliness of the front end counter.
I do recommend replacing the treadmills. You can hardly hear the tv coming through as the sound connectors are badly damaged and lose.
Group AOA activities.
friendly
Cleanliness, knowledgeable instructors, friendly staff
I use the facility 5 days a week for pickleball and the AOA classes.
Thank you for maintaining up-to-date equipment. My wife and I appreciate your making coffee available, which we enjoy after working out.
If we may nit pic...often the coffee is only lukewarm. We have to discard a full cup in that case. Perhaps a microwave would serve a good purpose, allowing us to heat our coffee.
Actually just started a few weeks ago, I take the Silver Sneakers class only at this time. Hope to be able to more advanced classes in six weeks or so. On another subject, the way the class is set up,chair wise, it's difficult to see and hear the instructor. Maybe is the chairs were set back further and staggered, it would be easier for us to hear and see, and also give instructor more room. Currently the chairs are set back mere feet from the instructor. Thank you.
Love the classes. Bodypump and Pop pilates!
Silverslickers

I love the youth basketball league!
