Fitness classes
Great place to exercise.
It would be very nice if there were more Zumba and BodyCombat class options. The weight room is good. It would be great if there could be more variety with the music. Oftentimes, the exact same songs and playlists are repeated on a daily basis. Thanks!
I like that there are so many types of classes offered! The group fitness classes are the primary reason I got a membership.
Activities and programs are well run by highly mission driven professionals.
Very diverse activities for active older adults!
Very nice choices!
Friendliness of everyone
I like the variety of equipment
Don’t like the very loud music that is on early AM or the very powerful overhead fans. Too much wind!
Helpful staff, a lot of variety in classes, family friendly
Very good gym
Warrior ninja, soccer, the pool
Very good experience. Thank you
Good instructors. Pool is nice
The friendliness of the staff and affordable. Small class sizes.
Wide variety of classes with excellent instructors! VERY responsive to suggestions and requests from members!
The coaches are the best and the training is top notch! Everyone feels like a family. The prices are also very reasonable.
The whole gym is amazing and has so much to offer. My 7 YO Granddaughter loves the pool.
It is mostly the friends I have made. Social gatherings is important as we age and our group looks after each other while we get moving in the studios. I feel some of the group fitness classes could be updated.
I appreciate the variety of activities and programs the YMCA offers. However, I would like to see lower program fees for children’s sports, particularly for YMCA members.
I also have concerns regarding children under the age of 15 being permitted in the main workout area, whether accompanied by an adult or not. I believe this presents a significant safety concern. I have personally witnessed children under the age of 13 in the workout area without a parent or guardian nearby, and there have been instances where they were nearly struck by weights or collided with individuals actively exercising in the turf area.
The workout space is already somewhat limited, and having young children in the area—whether they are exercising or simply accompanying someone—can create additional congestion and increase the risk of injury. For the safety of both children and members who are working out, I believe the YMCA should consider establishing and consistently enforcing a minimum age requirement of 15 for access to the main workout area.
The people are so wonderful and the programs appeal to a wide variety of interests. I love Silver Sneakers! Also, there are activities that stimulate the mind. I am part of a book club. Others do crafts or play cards or other games. Group trips planned by the Y make it easy to gain cultural enrichment. I am so happy to take part in activities that help maintain both my mental and physical health.
Everything.
Love the friendly people working. Carl has been a big help on the machines.
All programs, Equipment and of course good communication, great customer service and attention to details by all the hosts employees on what to do.
I go to the Silver Snickers class, Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays. Amanda is absolutely an awesome instructor trainer. I am glad that she’s there and a lot of her classes. Everybody loves her but now I will say this that room is very hot. There’s no AC blowing in it only the fans everybody complains about it so I’m gonna let y’all know that it’s hot in there. It’s very different from there and then in the hallways.

Beautiful facility and very friendly staff. I do wish there was a more structured policy in the lap pool. Since there are only 4 lanes, there have been times whoever is using the lane won't "share." I would also like to see a time limit if others want to use the pool.
I enjoy Silver sneakers but at times there isn't enough room for everyone.
Thanks for asking
The friendliness of the staff. The clean facilities. The friendships that are made with the members.

Variety. There's activities for all ages and genders at Perry Family YMCA. I moved to Dickinson Texas in July of 2021 and joined the YMCA right away. Since then I have made several friends. The YMCA is a great way to meet new people
Continued my fitness regimen adding spinning classes and am a volunteer.
The facility is very clean and maintained. The staff is engaged and member focused.
