I really enjoy the YMCA because it offers something for the whole family. The gym is always clean and welcoming, and I especially appreciate the kids’ corner because it gives parents a chance to work out while knowing their children are nearby.
The pool is another great feature, and I love that the YMCA offers family activities that bring everyone together. The staff are friendly, helpful, and make you feel welcome.
I also really like the open lobby space. It’s a comfortable place to sit down, relax, and take a break before or after a workout. Overall, the YMCA feels more like a community than just a gym, which is what I enjoy most about it.
Friendly and respectful staff and members in the most part. Don’t like being treated like kindergartners because of one grouchy woman. Having to put chairs up after class when next class is using is ridiculous.

The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Swim instructors talked to us honestly about how the girls were doing after each lesson.
We’ve had an amazing experience with the YMCA Southwest swim program! As a parent, it meant so much to see how patient and encouraging the instructors were with my daughter, who started out very nervous in the water. The swim teachers truly work as a team and take the time to support each child individually while still keeping the group engaged.
Thanks to their dedication, my daughter went from being hesitant to now swimming on her own without any flotation devices. She absolutely loves her lessons and looks forward to them every single week, which says everything.
On top of that, the staff at the front desk is always friendly and welcoming, making every visit a positive experience from the moment we walk in. We will definitely be signing up for another session and highly recommend YMCA Southwest to any parent looking for quality swim instruction!
