The Y offers lots of opportunities no matter what level of exercise you need. Additionally, the employees I have met at the Y are always very friendly.
The Y is clean always! Apparently, those who run the Floyd County YMCA are given instruction on handling emergency situations. This was displayed when someone in my Silver Sneakers Class left unexpectedly. Julie sent a classmate to the restroom to make sure the lady was okay and radioed downstairs to be on the lookout in case she came down with an emergency.
Julie makes our Silver Sneakers Class fun. She smiles and laughs and we all enjoy our time and at the same time we get the exercise we need at our age.
One more thing, it is always surprising to me how many people I know from another time in life are now attending the Y. Thanks for asking, Joyce Fox

The people and group classes!
The New Albany YMCA is the best of the 4 I've attended with my Renew Active. I went after a softball game, using the track and the sauna. I didn't stop in the weight room (2nd floor); however, I noticed there were staff in there if someone has questions. Great job! There is the climbing wall, and I take it trainers available. With this included in this Y, I don't need to pay for the Climb NuLu for the taste of rock/wall climbing. I didn't have time to use the warm water pool. I have in the past and it is the largest warm water pool, and truly warm water. When I went to the first floor, I was happily surprised that the "coffee station" has tea, too! As I was drinking my tea, two ladies sat down at the same table and we chatted. They come regularly and ensured that I have the handout for the weekly meetings for those on Renew Active/other senior plans. Both suggested I join the Wed. group. I don't live in Indiana. Whenever I come to New Albany, I will do what I can to come in, even for a brief workout.
Wednesday 10:30 power fusion class led by Dale. Great instructor, great environment, good way to challenge yourself and get to know your body better.
The instructors are amazing. Shout out to Dale, Angela and Jaime spin instructors ! They each give it a different spin !
Staff, members and cleanliness
Everyone has your interest at heart! People respect you and are always willing to assist you. Also the Y is kept cleaner than most gyms!
Family atmosphere, yet a variety of high quality equipment and competition pools.
great facility. The locker room needs some attention. Shower 26 hasn't worked in months. There are several broken hooks. Can those be replaced? Cleanliness is great in the facility overall but not in the locker room. Mainly the carpet. Thanks!
