Member Testimonials
Clean. Friendly staff. Equipment is well maintained.
Excellent facility, good location, well maintained.
Clean and friendly.
Normally the Y is a clean and friendly place, with staff that are customer oriented!
Friendly family atmosphere.
Sent my son to summer camp for a week and he loved it. The staff is fantastic. The facility is also very nice with a lot of different things to do throughout the day for the kids. Would highly suggest the summer camp if you have young ones that want to have a full day of fun. The staff is very professional and engaging.
Facilities are clean and bright. Staff are friendly and knowledgable.
It's a well-equipped facility, the community seems lively, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. We've only taken one class so far but the instructor is good and the pool seems in good order - I was pleased that they didn't hesitate to close it when the chemicals were out of balance the other day.
We've been Y members since the 1990s. When our family shrunk, we were able to discover an adult side of the Y that crossed through midlife and into senior years. I like that ALL members are represented.
Location is convenient, facilities are kept clean and staff are friendly.
The facility is always clean and the fitness center for the most part has all equipment working. The Y staff is always friendly and helpful.
Was nice, will try a less busier time but will definitely be back. I’m a bit self conscious and getting back into being active so I appreciate the space and employees from my initial visit.
It is fun in Y.
I am mostly satisfied with the Y. I swim laps and this is the first summer we've continued our membership through the summer. The # of lanes available at any one time is somewhat difficult to remember but I'm learning. I have a complaint about the extremely loud music played during
the 11:00 to 12:00 class (Zumba?) I can hear it underwater with my swim cap on. Noise from kids is fine, but this level of "music" seems unnecessary.
Additionally, I would like to see more rubber mats in the ladies locker room.
The locker room is always very clean, I appreciate that.
Great @
Facility is clean. Diversity of members. Friendly and helpful staff
A variety of choices in fitness classes, good health awareness, a clean well-run facility with employees who are knowledgeable, courteous, professional and friendly.
1. Cheery hello and good bye. Friendliness seems to be a hiring attribute.
2. Other Y members: there is an easy ambiance between those in changing rooms or exercising.
3. Pool: Which pool, you ask. I am spoiled by choice. There is Towson with the wide outer lanes and two clocks set to the hour; there is 33rd St. with the far lap lanes open for business; or Parkville which seems more homey to me. Either way, the water is welcoming. If I'm a kid it will be either 33rd b/c of its wading lanes or Towson b/c of the separate pools with the slides.
4. You're staying open until 7:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Yea!
5. Intangibles: I like wearing my "I swam a 100 miles" tee-shirt because I earned it. There is an encouragement to grow and challenge yourself.
I enjoy the Perring Parkway Y more than the Towson Y. The pool is less crowded.
The Y is welcoming and has so many options for so many people of all ages...at approachable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful.
So far it’s been a great experience!
The equipment is great, the atmosphere friendly, and staff helpful.
I love the hours, the families, especially the entrance area with its open space, fireplace, and climbing wall, and I love the mix of people who are members.
Friendly greeting. Helpful staff who answers questions and doesn't just seem out to "no" you to death.
Facilities are great. I like the multicultural group who uses the Y.
I love everything about the Y, they are very accommodating and friendly to all
Community feel and accessible activity
Well, I just quit because of a re-location, but Orokawa helped save my life after I had three stents put in my heart a few years ago. The exercise regimine given to me by the heart doctors included recumbent bike. The pedaling without variation caused the meniscus in my knees to complain.
Post COVID, it seemed that the members were not so attentive to the signs asking people to wipe down the machines after they used them. I watched a number of people just walk away.
I sent emails about my leaving to the director a week before the end of the month and never heard back. That's just bad business. I called and Justin told me I had to come in. Also bad business. During that process, he told me that I'd be charged for the next 30 days anyway. AYFKM!?
He said it was the rule. I thought that was a bad rule and told him so. I'm trying to be a nice by showing up to do this and you try to nick me for an extra month. That's bad business. My bank charges $30 to shut down your withdrawal of $54. You will encounter this.
So, staff and exercise, good. Business, not so good.
I enjoy my classes and working out on the machines.

I have been a Y member for more than 11 years. I have enjoyed every class that’s part of the membership. I truly love that they have the stay and play for my kids. I have also done the parents night out which have been great experience for my kids too. People at the Y are always helpful.
