The Dancel Y is a great place for the entire family and senior citizens also! It is lower priced than most of the centers in the Columbia - Ellicott City areas; basically providing the same services and activities or more. We were paying big bucks to athletic clubs and gyms until we discovered the Y 17 years ago. The location is great and very convenient to many communities. Most of all the personnel are very warm and friendly. They make you feel like family!

I use mainly the stay and play and I really enjoy the staff there. They’re fun, super friendly and very good with the children even when they’re criers like mine! I also find the front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Very much enjoy going here

I really love all the amenities at the Y, however I do have some constructive feedback. The Warm Pool schedule is somewhat confusing. It says "Lessons (4)". What exactly does that mean? Is that Adult Lessons? Is that Toddler Lessons? Is that a specific Age Group Lessons? My Wife needs Lessons, and my 29-month old Son needs Lessons. How do I know when the appropriate Instructor is in the Pool?
Along with that, on my first visit to the Y, it took me over 20 minutes to find the stairwell. I did not see any easily identifiable signs pointing in the direction of the stairwell. Only after I asked one of the Instructors who happened to be passing by was I able to finally locate the stairs.

Warm swimming pool for arthritis; friendly faces; a lot offered for youth and elderly; times set aside for swim lessons, classes, aqua walk and free swim or family swim!
I have Sean as my personal trainer, and he is great! He listens to what my fitness goals are and is helping me to achieve those goals. Whether it is using free weights or any of the Cybex cable equipment, I am also gaining confidence in pushing myself to become stronger and more fit, and at 62 years of age, that's a great accomplishment for me?!
Also, I just started taking some of the classes, and they are very fun!
