Our family has just joined Y this January, but we believe that we will come to swim every weekend. Our daughter started her swim lesson this week and enjoyed the first lesson very much.

Great parent/child program, reasonably priced, Tyjae is an awesome instructor!
The Y staff is friendly and personable. They greet you by name, they genuinely seem to care about you as a person. It's a very positive environment.
As for the physical facility itself, it is very clean, it doesn't have a bad gym odor, and there's a lot of equipment so even if something is broken or being fixed, there's always something else to do.

I enjoy the Y. My only wish list for the Y at this time, is for every Y location that has a pool to have a baby pool as well for younger children and/or inexperienced swimmers. Additionally, massage bed and chairs, a sauna, and a steam room would also be a great beneficial.
I like the Catonsville Y because of it’s size—big enough to have a great selection of machines and specialty rooms yet small enough to feel “homey.” There is also a nice mix of people whenever I go, from teens to middle-aged folks like me!

We really enjoy the gentle yoga class taught by Carol on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. My husband likes to work out at the gym. The staff is very helpful and friendly and we both really appreciate that.
I love that you keep the pool warm - I swim laps but must have a warm pool!
I also like the facility, the weight room and the stationary bikes and the sauna...and the employees are friendly.
The associates and patrons have always been friendly. The classes are organized and start on time. My daughters, husband and I love Catonsville Y!

Staff is nice, clean facilities, good location and classes available many times a week that I like.
I did write a few months back in a bit of a complaint mode. I have pts. that have complained to me frequently about "the Y". Most recently someone told me of her brand new Christmas present coat being snatched/stolen off the hooks in the bike area, never to be seen again. Why do people do that? Maybe they were cold.....and poor....I hope, b/c no other reason makes sense. Anyway, since I wrote before I have noticed a significant improvement in front end workers being sincerely friendly and welcoming!!! Yeh!!! Thank you! They have assisted me with new and ever changing class schedules and responded to hasty requests on my part of "family pool time"? So the customer service has improved. I have also enjoyed with curiosity the new class, NIA, in that it is different and providing some diversity and dare I say "hip ness" to Catonsville. Its not my favorite class, personally, but I thought worth mentioning as I appreciate it. It takes a long time for people to start a routine and then stay with it, so consistency with class schedules and substitutes when possible is also helpful. Respect and manners for our elder population and our youngsters too will keep people coming.... Thanks for asking.
