A very kid/family friendly environment
My husband and I have been going to the South Tampa Y since we moved here in 2009. It suits both our needs. I love the group exercise classes and my husband enjoys the open gym. The staff is friendly and it feels like a family atmosphere. It suits many ages from small children to older adults as well as various fitness levels. I have tried many of the boutique style gyms in South Tampa but always come back to the South Tampa Y for the varied classes and instructors
The trainers or coaches at the YMCA located in Riverview, Old Big Bend Rd are awesome!
Fun for the kiddos! My son loves golf and enjoyed playing at camp.

I’ve been a member for 15 years. I feel comfortable there. It’s expensive than most gyms though. Two things I would like to see change is ;
More women trainers for personal training
Fix the uneven pavement near handicap parking
Love the trainers! So patient and explain things so clearly. Glenn, Britney and LaVar are the best
The staff is so friendly you don’t find that in other facilities. It’s like a family.
I love the classes- both the exercise classes and the art classes. I enjoyed celebrating Black History a couple of years ago, the fashion show and all the fun activities.

everyone there staff people and trainer are very helpful and friendly . they get to know you on a personal level . very family orientated and do lots of events, races , monthly pot luck .. etc .

There is such a variety of programs that no matter what your age or fitness preference you can probably find it. The hours are good, the facility is clean. The cost is fair.
