Member Testimonials
Staff is great at Northwest YMCA, they do need increases in pay, but very difficult for those on fixed incomes is what I'm being told by friends I recommend for membership.
The problems with pool and whirlpool is out of service too often. I know Becky is working hard to
remedy.
I don't participate in an programs or activities at this time but nice to know they are available - the Y is a nice senior friendly place!
Being able to reserve a lap lane.
The variety of classes. The instructors are great.
There are many different kinds of activities and time for you choose what is the best for you.
Lots of classes and times. Yoga classes are my favorite. Good variety of machines. The hot sauna is amazing and
May I suggest a room for women only to do abdominal and floor work. I was laying on the mats near the rock climbing wall doing abs, push-ups and low back work. A man sat behind me on a machine. When I got up he had his phone pointed at me making as if he’s taking photos and video. He didn’t do reps on the machine. Just sat there with his phone pointed at me.
The room can be simple with mats a couple weights and workout balls. Nothing crazy but somewhere private where we feel comfortable laying on the ground doing our workout.
I appreciate your ear and look forward to my next workout.
Lots of classes and equipment, good for the neighborhood.
Lap swimming. Clean facilities. Helpful and trained staff. Emergency action plans in place.
I enjoy using the swimming pool to swim laps and the great opportunity for socialization with a diverse group of members.
Variety
Lots to choose from and always trying to add new things
Love them
There’s such a huge variety of classes, times and instructors. There’s absolutely something for everyone, either equipment or class wise.
The cleanliness of the facility is impressive too.
Varied according to different goals & offered frequently.
People friendly
Offerings for all age groups
It’s a beautiful facility. I love the equipment, especially the treadmills. The trainers are very helpful. The child care areas are exceptional..
Weight lifting
I love Pickleball and all of the sweet, friendly people that I’ve met while playing.
I like that there are a variety of programs to choose. I also like the hours of operation.
The variety and quality of the staff and teachers is better than anywhere in the area hands down! My only request is that you please bring back later classes during the week days if you can find the staff. It can be difficult for someone who works 9-5 to make the 5:30 classes and Zumba is usually the only class later than 5:30pm.
I love the variety of classes.
Friendly, easy going atmosphere where everyone is very welcoming
Hours and facilities work well with my schedule!
they are geared to reach the community
I like the activities and programs. As an avid swimmer the masters classes a couple times a week in the 5am hour (when a lot of people that work try to get that a lot) you now have erased 3 lanes twice a week for a minimal amount of people…sometimes 3-4 that attend. The entire pool schedule is like you can’t get out of your own way you’ve changed it so many times and the system absolutely stinks considering the down time you’ve hd with it.
Cardio new equipment is nice but we members pay for that with the price hike. Pickle ball, although I don’t play seems to be going over well with lots of participation.
Looking forward to the annual thinning of the herd as the resolution people fall off in another month or so.
A great gym with full facilities
Friendly staff (especially Ann) great classes and instructors (Kim), clean and up to date equipment. I mostly go to yoga and Pilates classes but there are so many others I plan on trying.
We love the everything about the Y! The only reason I say 9 is because there is limited weight lifting equipment when it’s crowded and limited Mat space.
Great place, exercise, workout, pool, whirlpool & socialization !
Classes designed for Seniors. Great instructors, friendly staff.

Good variety of classes
