We like the YMCA in Decatur very much because it makes us feel part of a big active community that welcomes us every time we show up. Every body starting with any of the employers no matter what they do, they greet you with a huge smile, and even if they do not know you they make you feel like they have known you for years, all the members are nice to each other. No one in this community is there to show up, every one is there to stay healthy, through healthy exercise, and creating good habits that every body shares and if you need help we find very knowledge people to guide us in whatever our needs in that moment might be.

The variety and schedule is group exercise classes is excellent. I can work in my exercise around my schedule rather than having to move mountains to get to a class. That's really helpful in keeping up with it. The staff is super friendly. The locker room is kept clean and there are always fresh totals available. When I was a student, the y worked with me to help me afford a membership and now, I'm giving back because I really appreciated that.
I started doing group exercises and everyone is so nice, and the instructors are very welcoming.
Would love to see the gym add some heavy bags for punching/kickboxing.
The facility is clean and there are a ton of classes. The only feedback I have is perhaps posting more "no cell phone" decals in the workout/cardio area. It's very distracting to have people talking on their phones.

Staff are helpful and polite. Nice change from the usual big gym vibe.

Wonderful staff, well organized facility. Kids love the swim lessons. Just wish there were more lanes avaialable at different times for lap swimming for adults.
Programs are varied and the instructors are friendly and great at modifying movements as needed.
I love the variety of classes offered. The play center is run extremely well. We had our first parent and me gymnastics class this morning and it was amazing. The activities, equipment, and instructor of this class are top notch!!!
This is a nice, friendly facility. Nice equipment room too.
The gym
I like the Body Pump and Core Strength classes.
Pilates and Yoga classes, weight machines, recumbent bikes
I don’t participate in any programs, but workout on my own.
The staff is friendly and the center is well equipped and clean.
I like the consistency of the work out classes and the instructors (especially Brandi!) are great! The front desk staff are also always friendly, which is wonderful!
Convenient hours, conscientious, helpful staff, good equipment.
Excellent selection of exercise equipment and very friendly and helpful staff.
I like the availability of classes, workout spaces, and having access to a Peloton bike.

The Decatur YMCA has a friendly atmosphere, professionally managed and always clean. Best of all, I can expect the same level of service everyday.
Great work out space and yoga classes. I love to use the pool and the schedule says there are lap lanes at a time when the pool has no lap lanes and instead at least 3 different groups us it in the morning from 9-12. I love seeing it used for groups and wouldn’t mind If there was 1 lane open or if it was posted correctly.

Friendly staff
Excellent programs for adult exercise- body pump, strength express, pound, turbo kick, etc. The instructors work to make it fun.They form is into bring a better community.
Having towels and soap and fulll size lockers make a great, positive focus, difference.
Front desk and administrative leadership team, Lisa L, Reyn, Carl, etc. are all polite and helpful. Being welcomed makes us all welcome.
I LOVE the Y! I participate in the group fitness classes and the instructors are all amazing. The Y offers Body Pump which is a wonderful class that not all gyms offer. The staff are great and the people who go to the Y are fun to be around.
