Ive been working out for a month now! Three times a week on the machines and up to 2 miles on the tread mill. I have taken some great classes: Robert Strength and Lisa Humphreys Strength. Both great classes. Havent lost weight because I gained muscle. Good news is I have more tone and lost an inch. Glad I joined again.
We love the YMCA! And I recommend it to everybody specially families, great pool, kids activities and child care, so the mom can work out too!
Clean workout/weights area that is surprisingly quiet and calm (thank you for no blaring music!) great group exercise options, yoga, step aerobics. Glad to know there are options for personal trainers too.

The atmosphere at Carl Sanders YMCA is professional and calm. There are very few raised voices or feelings of stress. You are to be congratulated for not succumbing to more noise is better.

The people and the facilities
There are many offerings and the facilities are well-maintained. I primarily participate in the tennis program. The coaches are excellent and work hard to create a positive and yet competitive tennis environment.
Classes!
Water aerobics has become an important place in my life. It has helped keep me in good health. I look forward to seeing friends in that class everyday. Sue Nowak over the years has been an outstanding leader. Christine our new leader is a very good leader of water aerobics. Bill Fallon and Sally White have also been very helpful in my using weights and walking on the track.
I have also been impressed with the leadership and caring of Jill Moore, and the fact that she is visiable. Jill has been available to listen my concerns.

My "Coach" Sally is excellent. She took the mystery out of the machines and provides the perfect touch of encouragement. She, and the other coaches, make going to the Y a comfortable place to work at your own pace.
Every thing is the best
I take part on an individual basis with equipment and facilities. I don't participate in any activities or programs.

I haven't tried everything yet. My wife loves the dance class. I look forward to the spin class. And I appreciate the availability of equipment.
I love the basketball scene and the people are very nice.
The variety of classes
I like the exercise classes. I wish they were easier to get to, though. Many of my favorite classes, like water intervals, occur when I am at work during the day.
I like that you offer so much to do and have so many machines to choose from. You have a large building with a lot of space and it's clean and well kept.
I love the Carl Sanders Buckhead YMCA for the following reasons:
1) The variety of equipment in the cardio space and weight room.
2) The wide selection and availability of group exercise courses.
3) Access to an indoor and outdoor pool; as well as the friendliness of your front desk.
Definitely worth my investment.
The Y offers a safe place for my husband to be taken by his caregiver. He can safely walk the track and use the workout equipment. He also enjoys the hot tub. They go five days a week and it is wonderful.
