My doctor told me I should take water aerobics for health reasons. So the first place I thought of was the Y. I started out doing water aerobics 5 days a week. I now do twice a week. I like the instructors for those two classes (Sandy and Q). They are are always trying to improve their water aerobics classes. They also make the classes fun. They make me feel I can do anything and they are more like friends than instructors.
I also loved the kayaking class taught by Julie. Julie kept telling me I could do it so I finally decided to see about it. Julie was with me every step of the way and I had so much fun kayaking that I am really looking forward to when the weather gets warmer so I can go kayaking again.
All the instructors I have had are professional, friendly and I feel like they are close friends.

I like that I can try different classes, there are no limits on the class size or start/stop dates, many offerings for older people on weekdays, instructors are great, people are friendly and welcoming.

Weight lifting, classes, steam room and sauna, foam rollers, coffee! The vibe is very old Austin and family oriented. Really the coolest gym.

Love this Y. Wish you would open earlier on Sunday, I appreciate the few remaining spin bikes with LOOK pedals and hope you continue to keep a few. The new Kaiut Yoga class is terrific, hope you add more.
I like that TownLake's indoor swimming pool opens at 5:30 am so that I can work out before work.

Lots of different group exercise programs for all ages and fitness formats on all days of the week and lots of different times of the day.
I love the Child Watch and the staff there!
The only thing I wish is there was an entrance off of Cesar Chavez through the field. I literally watched the left turn arrow change 10x before I was able to turn last weekend.

THERE'S ALWAYS SOMETHING FUN AND HEALTHY TO DO. I RECENTLY JOINED A NEW ZUMBA CLASS FOR SENIORS, FOR EXAMPLE. SO MUCH FUN! FOR MANY YEARS I,VE BEEN PART OF THE MWF SENIOR FITNESS CLASS. I DROP OUT FOR PERIODS AND WHEN I COME BACK THERE'S USUALLY A TEACHER I HAVEN'T HAD BUT INEVITABLY IT'S SOMEONE I LEARN WITH AND ENJOY. AND I RECONNECT WITH OLD FRIENDS. THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST THINGS ABOUT THE Y. YOU WILL MAKE NEW FRIENDS. OFTENTIMES A SMALL GROUP OF US GATHER ROUND A TABLE FOR COFFEE OR TEA AND CATCH UP WITH EACH OTHER'S NEWS OR JUST TALK ABOUT ALL KINDS OF INTERESTING THINGS. JUST LISTENING TO WHATEVER ENTERTAINMENT IS GOING ON IS A GREAT PLEASURE - IT MAY BE A SINGING GROUP OR A PIANIST OR WHATEVER. SINCE THE RECENT MAKEOVER OF OUR Y WE ARE LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO PURSUE OUR PASSIONS IN BEAUTIFUL LIGHT FILLED SPACES ON STATE OF THE ART EQUIPMENT. THE ARCHITECTURE AND FURNISHINGS ARE MODERN AND INSPIRING. COME AND VISIT!!!
