There is a wide variety for all interests and ability levels
I really like all the classes I've been to- the teachers are kind and run well-paced classes, with lots of modifications offered.
The management of the pool is exemplary in every regard
Sanitization is as good as a public pool can be
Utilization is well managed as well
The equipment....proximity to the after workout.
While my daughter is practicing with swim team, I get to exercise.
We mostly use the facility for working out - and there are plenty of machines and weight to support a varied workout program.
Fun and timing
Great people. Convenient. Well stocked with equipment I use
I think that the Y is an amazing organization that provides a place for everyone of all financial backgrounds to have a place to excercise, swim, basketball, etc. Because excercise is so important!
Friendly, supportive, lots of smiles, seems like there's something for everyone.
LOVE GOLDEN ZUMBA!! Need another class of it!!
I like the childcare hours for my schedule. They start early eonough in the morning and work for our Saturday workouts too. The staff are very kind and professional with the kids.
My trainer is fantastic; facility hours are convenient; everything is well managed and clean. Good parking, too!
The warm training pool is awesome. the proximity of the hot tub makes it even better. The fact that the WARM training pool is virtually uninterrupted from open swim is the best and most fair idea. My kids love swimming and the fact that we can go swimming year round is worth the monthly fee.
Amazing staff, great classes, community feel and free coffee. What could be better? MWF yoga with Scott is top notch.
The groups exercise class for older adults
Swim lessons
frindly staff
Very accomodating and always geared towards improvement
Good weight room and other exercise areas (although you could use one more flat bench). Good aerobics equipment. Proximity to the Lake and its trail. Hours are good.
I have attended only one program at the Townlake YMCA since I joined in 1981, and that is Barbara Jo’s Back Care Class. It’s wonderful.
But OH, BOY, does the Townlake YMCA need a full-time, professional facilities manager. Broken equipment, failed shower heads, toilets that don’t flush, etc. Sorry, I’m a broken record on that topic. It’s a priceless property with a lot of systems and equipments that are used by lots of people. It needs steady and alert attention.
Location and facility
The equipment, the many classes, the pools, the special events, the friendly community.
There's a good selection of classes and the access to them (whether free or for a small fee) is reasonable.
The #1 thing I love about the Y is the community. I have never enjoyed group exercise until now. The community at the Y is just amazing. It feels as if we all genuinely care about our fellow exercisers!
The classes are great and the instructors are amazing. I am also always singing the praises of the Child Watch. Everyone who works in there is just wonderful. I have never once had even a remote hint of a bad experience. The programs they offer the children (arts & crafts, etc) are really great. Both of my children (ages 3 and 7) enjoy coming to the Y. All of the staff is just so friendly and always accommodating if a child is having a tough time.
Everything

The Town Lake YMCA is simply a wonderful place to exercise. I've lived in Austin almost 7 years and they are constantly upgrading, refurbishing the entire site. Despite being a very popular spot, there are always lots of available equipment and machines to use. Kudos for their contributions to the community.
Affordable. Great Classes. It feels like a family.
They're good

Welcoming attitude.
