Arthritis water class
I like having a place where I can so water aerobics and, especially during these triple-digest days of August, have an air conditioned, smooth-surfaced indoor track on which, when my health permits, I can walk. I like the southwest Y’s (generally) friendly staff (except for Joe McNeeley, who no longer makes eye contact or otherwise acknowledges my existence. And I like summertime water aerobics in the outdoor pool under the big trees!
The principal thing I don’t like is the quality of the water aerobic instructors fortheMo day, Wednesday, and Friday classes at 8:00 or 8:15 a.m. Jolyn Turner, especially is all-around awful. Things are better during the six mo ths of the year that she’s on vacation! Kathleen is dull and barely understandable. Alyda is the best of the bunch, but that’s not saying much. And I don’t like that each class seems to be under 5he complete control of its instructor — or class members — with respect to location and perhaps start time.
And while I understand why classes have to be moved from 8:15 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. in June, when kids take over the outdoor pool at 9:00 a.m. But there seems to be no reason for 5he earlier start in J7l6 and August.
Wide range of options at an affordable price while knowing that my money is going to a good cause as well. Parking could be better though.
It was nice to have a small class although it sounds like it’s not usually like that.
Swim instructor Peggy was amazing.
Great instructor (Ms Peggy) for working with young kids. Great price and diverse family friendly environment.

Ausitn Oakclaire/290 YMCA still have bad smell inside! - musty - must be the rubber mats i think

Gym classes and machines
Close to home, friendly staff, affordability
The huge variety of fitness classes offered...its amazing!
Close to our house and friendly staff.
We were so happy with swim lessons this summer- thank you! My kids rarely had substitutes in their lessons which is so helpful in building trust and familiarity. All of their teachers (Peggy, Sami Jo, and Abby) were patient, kind, focused, and taught the appropriate skills. Both of my kids made a lot of progress and we are very thankful.
Swim lessons for my kids
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like the cleanliness. The programs I have tried so far are alright.
I love everything about the System at the YMCA
My children really love the swimming team.
Mr. Nick was great with them.
Thank you so much!!!
Coach Nick is amazing!! He was able to identify needs of each of his students and focus individually to help them. He helped my kids become strong confident swimmers!!
Senior arobics etc. Walking place inside. Weight machines.
I like that the pool has a broad amount of hours that it is open. I am hoping to start joining more activities for seniors in the near future.
Kay is a great instructor. I like that your facility has both an indoor & outdoor pool. I also took adult lessons with Nick that were very helpful & fun.
One recommendation or request is that you add the swim group classes to the schedule in the app. Your facility is the o lot one that does not have them on that schedule, & it takes some doing to locate the pool schedule on the website.
We thought the instructors were great and the class structure very appropriate for the level.
The variety of activities offered
There is such a large variety of activities available.
I like that YMCA hosts community events and gatherings about empowering less fortunate folks in the community.
Great variety of classes
Friendly staff, great group exercise programs

Skilled instructors. Small class sizes. Kids were promoted as soon as they were ready to move up. We didn’t have to wait until the next session.
