I saw improvement right away. My son's command of language and english grammar led to him getting higher grades and scoring higher on his tests.
I'm just not feeling the connection that I had hoped to feel in terms of getting comprehensive feedback about how Bella is doing, and how the program is being individually tailored to meet her needs and to be responsive to them in a meaningful way. I was encouraged after talking to Jaclyn last week that efforts would be made to place Bella with 1 of 2 outgoing, bubbely female instructors, but last night she was placed with another new teacher, a male. Meanwhile, Bella keeps communicating to me that the work she's being asked to do is "too easy." This is frustrating, because her classroom teacher continues to stress how much help she needs in long division and multiplication. While I understand and respect the "foundation" approach of filling in the gaps, I'm not convinced that it's helping. I'm not really sure whether or not Bella's complaints that the work she is being given is "too easy" are accurate or a facade, but wish that I did not need to wait until the end of March to get some concrete feedback from Sylvan about how she is performing during the sessions. It would also be reassuring to know that there are instructors who are following her regularly and that there is well thought out continuity from session to session to the extent that one instructor passes on his/her impressions of Bella's strengths and needs to the next person. What impressed me most about Sylvan going in was the "it takes a village" approach, but I am not seeing or feeling that in practice and I remain deeply concerned about my daughter.

Staff makes me feel welcome and incouraged.
I like that Sylvan is very kid and family oriented. They are very helpful and genuine about getting our kids on the right track with school.
everyone at Sylvan is great! Charlie loved going to class and really learned alot. I really wanted him to continue but we happened to be caught in the financial mess. I do plan to come back when we can afford the tutition. Thanks so much for everything.

Flexibility with time, willingness to work around for client convenience.
I like that parents are kept in the loop with progress meetings. Our children looked forward to going and had fun learning at Sylvan. The program works as there was obvious improvement and clarification around their challenges.
I AM NOT SURE HOW THINGS ARE GOING TO BE IN THE FUTURE REGARDING MY CONFIDENCE NOW THAT
DIANA LEVEY HAS LEFT THE COMPANY. I THOUGHT VERY HIGHLY OF HER.
the wonderfully friendly and attentive staff
I called in a few times to let them know my son would not be attending a particular day and I received a call asking was he going to attend.
Better conferencereminders
Send some work home so we know more about what they do in their sessions
open on sundays and all day saturdays for greater flexibility for working parents who have difficulty getting to Sylvan on weekdays.
The geometry tutor was really good.
My daughter learned tons and was thrilled going there.
friendly and supportive
efficient and no nonsense and the results are there.
the wonderful staff and the fact that my son loves to go to tutoring
Claudia is a delight to work with, efficient, caring and incredible competent, she is a delight. Ciaran loves the session - you have the right stuff working, well done!
The rates are not affordable. A sliding fee scale may help, but this is a for-profit business. You could also allow bartering in lieu of payment, for example, if I am an excellent writer, but terrible in math, I could provide tutoring in English and reading while someone else provides my child tutoring in math.
make the kids feel happy beside learning, staff are very friendly.
I like the flexibility with the scheduling process and allowing the student the opportunity to get some assistance with a difficult homework assignment.
low student-teacher ratio; works at her own pace with a curriculum designed for her
My child asked to go, but mostly Sylvian brought her to just above reading level and gave her self confidence in her reading ability.
Thank you
WHEN MY SON GETS BETTER GRADES IN SCHOOL, THEN YOU GET A BETTER GRADE.
The tuitors are very experience and helpful. They are able to explain very well and my son is picking up the math very quickly. He is happy about everything he learns at Sylvan.
The small class sizes, no serious amount of homework, kids love going, the improvement in my children's understanding of a topic.
The responsiveness of the director and the instructors. They work together to develop a specific individualized program to maximize my child's learning experience in a professional, caring and patient manner.
Although it is the best money I have ever spent on my daughter, it is hard to recommend a program so expensive to everyone.

Do sessions with the parents on occasion
