I like the assessments that allow the sessions to be tailored to a child's needs. I like the small group sessions, the regular progress meetings and the prize imcentives.
My son has enjoyed the program so far. Loves the point system so he can work towards getting some junk. Too early in process to see if he’s learning anything.
The folks are very welcoming and understanding with your concerns, about your child's academics achievement.
First and most important. Anthony says hello to each child upon entering Sylvan. This makes my child feel welcome into the environment. There are days she is excited to go to Sylvan and some days not so excited and once she arrives and is greeted with a warm smile and a genuine interest in how their day was she begins to engage. Anthony doesn't just allow kids to say good in their response, he presses them further to find out, What was good about your day?. It is this difference, the difference an adult can make at the beginning of a tutor session which makes all the difference. My daughter is currently enrolled 5 days a week, so its pretty intense for her. She is grasping the content quickly and all the teachers are very sweet. I love to watch her through the glass and see her engaged with the teacher. For me one on one and human interaction is still key to learning and even though the ipad is able to keep better track of her progress there is nothing that compares to good old conversation. Thank you sylvan, you are helping my daughter get up to speed!

My student receives a lot of one on one teacher/student time. She is getting through freshman algebra because of the work she gets done at Sylvan.
