The sense of community created by the YMCA is by far the most appealing component of my membership. From the folks who take pride in keeping the facility bright and clean, through the staff who go out of their way to help, to the other members, the Y has created a place where people like me enjoy pursuing fitness. The extra curricular activities, teachers are wonderful and very caring. My child looks forward to go to school everyday! She is just 4.5 and knows her addition and subtraction and has started with division! The focus is not just on the academics but the over all development of the child. They are taught good values and how to respect others. I am very happy with the way my child’s personality is developing here.

The child care in the middle of the Y and plenty of space for the kids to play is amazing for us, and what truly made us join in comparison to other gyms.
I love the variety of classes that I attend at the Y, plus swimming and running around the track and being able to visit other Ys! When my kids were young, the babysitting saved my sanity :)
Step classes offered
The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. They always welcome us back when we have missed visits due to vacations and such.
I like the cycle classes and the people who teach them, Lesley, Cathy and Tara. I was looking for physically challenging classes and they fit that bill. I also like the Pilate classes with Lesley, Jane and Jackie. i am a faithful attender of them every week that I am around the area. I also like the swim lap pool. The water temperature is great. The pool seems very well maintained. I regularly swim every Tuesday and Thursday.
The people at the front desk are very friendly. the atmosphere at the Y is very friendly. I enjoy regularly seeing familiar faces.

The laundry bags in the locker rooms are great! They make the whole workout experience much easier and hassle free.

Group exercise classes
Helpful staff when I need assistance at the front desk. I’ve brought in guests multiple times and they have been helpful explaining everything. Also, I’ve forgotten my ID card at times and they’ve pleasently have looked me up on the system.
The staff is friendly, the facilities are great, and you do fun things like family dance parties!

Unlike the Upper Main Line Ymca, the West Chester branch values it members whose children are grown and are not there for kid's activities. Your branch always makes room in the competition pool for lap swimmers even during swim practice. The Upper Main Line Ymca does not show any respect for lap swimmers unless they are under the age of 18. Thank you for being a welcome alternative for the over 40 crowd.
