Staff are friendly, facilities are clean, hours are wide open so you can go before or after work.
Friendly staff, and some really good classes. The rooms where I take classes need to have the floors cleaned more often bc it’s not much fun exercising on a dirty floor. And if you can get more classes in the morning, that would be great too.

When you walk in the front door at the Cleaver Y, you're greeted...in my case by name if Ms Cathy is manning the front desk. The entire staff is always friendly, the locker room is clean and the gym is usually available.
Two separate weight rooms keeps it from getting crowded. Their equipment is current and or often updated. The cardio equipment features bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and other equipment that measures heart rate. Swim lanes are usually available in their pool.
They also have some great trainers...Billy and Monica in particular. The age range of people either taking classes with them or working out is impressive. Overall, Andrea Toney has a great facility and a great group of people making the Cleaver Y a true community treasure.

I love my YMCA, I’m new in KC and they make me feel very welcome. The staff always has a smile for me and are genuinely sweet people who seem to care for the other staff and the people coming in. I have had trouble connecting since my move but at my YMCA I always feel welcome.
