The Y educates us on safe and smart exercise. It provides a place to meet people and share the journey of health and wellness. It gives me a place to walk and a place to read. The equipment is first class and the cleanliness incredible. Everything is always spot on. I was a member at Genesis Health Club but then Morgan the Jeweler suggested I come back to the Y and he was right. I saw him there yesterday, heaves about the Y.
Swim classes for my young kids are amazing. The childcare staff is so caring and my kids love going. I love the variety of classes offered. Body pump and RPM instructors are great. Love YMCA platte south.

It offers a lot of different aquatic programs and there is always open swim time.
A welcome atmosphere no matter what type of workout of why you are there.
Lots of classes and the variety of classes. It has an indoor track which is really nice. The Y near overland park does not have an indoor track - just a carpeted area around the cardio machines..
Only downside is that the tracking mechanisms on the bikes in the spinning classes are not compatible with most heart rate monitors.
The equipment is updated on a regular basis, the layout makes sense and the extra pool is perfect for lap swimmers.
