Abbey & Eric have been great about tailoring the lessons to what engages and excites my kids. They have been flexible with our crazy schedules and are creative when they're maybe a bit off (especially Abbey with the 4-year olds!).
School of Rock is awesome! They help kids and adults of all ages to learn and become rock stars. I have 2 kids that have learned how to play the electric guitar through their program and we could not be happier. School of rock not only teaches them but challenges them to become better and feel confident in their abilities.
I love the exposure to performing and being a part of a band. I love how much our son looks forward to his time at School of Rock, being with his friends and the amazing instructors.
Clear and concise information about student/parent expectations when a beginner is needed. We didn’t know where to wait for class to begin, etc. Also, there was no parent communication when a substitute was being used for lessons. This is important information especially when you have a child who does not adapt to change very well. Also after a group rock 101 class the teacher, whom I had never met, came into the waiting room and started addressing the entire group. I wasn’t sure if he was speaking to me or the others since I didn’t know him. I received a note on my child’s account that evening from this very teacher stating he wasn’t going to waste his precious class time to deal with “bad apples”. I wasn’t sure if this note came just to my child or to the entire class. But either way, no parent wants to have their child referred to as a “bad Apple”. In my opinion, if my child was misbehaving in a class I would want the teacher to address me personally and directly.
The manager is a friend of the family.
The teachers are awesome, I always learn something new when I go. I also love that we have the opportunity to perform live gigs.
I can’t say enough about the programs and staff! I’m so thankful they’re in our area.
Great instructors. Brings out the best in our kids. Also, many opportunities to learn other instruments. Get to play at good venues.
It's the best thing that has happend to my son. He finally found something that is "his thing"
I love School of Rock! I have literally been a SOR for half my life. I love the eduction and social aspect of learning music through band. I would recommend everyone try it!
With the adult band my experience literally goes to 11
Awesome instructors.
Lessons combined with performance bands is the best way to learn an instrument and improve your skills. All instructors are very skilled musicians and proficient in teaching skills.
No consistence with teacher. Frequent subs not as good as. No progress is possible if you have different teachers.
Charging the full price when the building isn’t suitable for months , and having to drive another 5 miles to an inadequate grammar school - isn’t the thing I would recommend to anyone.
Stage time.
My kids went to a different school of rock in the past and they loved it because there is a big sense of community and belonging at school of rock. They don’t really get that from the school.
Effective program that’s fun
Love the program! Love the instructors! It’s the one after school activity I don’t have to bargain with my kids to go too. This school has helped my kids find their passion.
We love that the kids are part of a band and learn to work with their band members.
School of Rock not only helps each child learn and grow in their musical abilities, it also helps them build confidence which I think is so awesome!
School of Rock has made a major difference in my son. He has learned so much in less than a year on how to play the bass as well as how to play with a band, but more important his self esteem has blossomed and he has developed friendships with a great group of kids!
I can't recommend School of Rock enough!
School of Rock's format makes all the difference in the world! Standard music lessons are fine, but when paired with quarterly performances, the students word so much harder to achieve their goals.
Staff are nice, good communication with parents and students, it is fun and excellent training ,
Gives kids the chance to really experience performing and builds confidence.
Teachers and manager are fun to work with
Make learning music fun
The cost is very high. There should be flexible lesson planning., for instance twice a month. Older students practice more at home and tune up there skills with there coach. My son is not a full time musician, he plays high school sports, serves his community, he is trying to get a job, and getting his drivers license so 4 lessons a month takes up too much time.
Friendly, inclusive, thorough
My 10yo loves it - he’s getting to learn to play songs with other kids, and then he also gets a private lesson so he can hone his skills independently. It’s music with context, not in a vacuum! His teachers are patient and fun, he’s absorbing musical technique easily, and he can’t wait to go each week!
