Great hour long workout! Ethereal music, encouraging instructor, hot room.
Amazing class. Sunday HPF is one of my favorites. The instructor really embraced the small class. Gave helpful cues and I liked how she tweaked some poses to match the sunday candlelit flow better. Will be returning.
Jen is so awesome!!! This was my favorite C2 class so far. Her playlist was excellent—she clearly puts a lot of thought and effort into her classes and you can feel how inspired she is by the music, which inspires me! This class was somehow just what I needed that day (thanks, universe!). I absolutely cannot wait to take another class with Jen. Totally love the CorePower community and I feel so grateful and proud to be a part of it.
I’m from out of town, but I loved the class with Helen, and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

Great class. Easy check in for a visitor.
As someone who has gone to a lot of different studios with a wide range of teachers and teaching styles, I really love Core Power C2 classes because there is a consistency to how the classes are taught and I pretty much know what to expect. I know they will be challenging but won't kill me. The music is good and not distracting. Studio over all feels pretty clean. I appreciate that the teachers don't do a lot of talking outside of talking about the poses. One of the things that really bothers me are teachers who try to teach life lessons or spiritual growth concepts while in class, and some tend to go on and on throughout class which I find super unnecessary, distracting, and annoying, so I appreciate that they stick to the form more often, and the correction of poses, and don't talk a lot about other things.
The only one thing that I have a very hard time with is the temperature. Having gone to many other studios over the last 15 years, the temperature is usually warm in Vinyasa flow classes, but not 100 degrees. They are typically anywhere up to 85 degrees. Although I've been to Thermal or hot yoga classes in the past, they are too hot for me so I prefer to stick to Vinyasa flow classes. I know from talking to some of the teachers there, a typical C2 class is kept around 100 degrees, I will never understand why it has to that hot, and it's probably even more with the humidity settings on. I have to always be right by the door so I can run out at some point into the lobby from being overheated. If I don't get the door spot I get a little panicked. I have trained myself to tolerate the heat at Core Power more than I could several years ago, but it's still really difficult for me. It feels like CP caters to only this very young group of people who love to be as hot as possible and would probably be better suited to a Hot Yoga class. Anyone who can't deal with the 100 degrees is just out of luck. I have friends who I know would love your studio and classes but they won't go because they know it's too hot. It leaves out a huge number of people unfortunately. I may not be able to continue being a member and if I find a studio near me that works for my schedule, I would definitely leave just due to the heat. My only option is to a C1 class, which are not as frequent as the C2 so harder to make it to, and also I don't love the C1 classes as I have been doing yoga a long time and C2 works better for me.
I am not saying it shouldn't be hot at all, I am saying even at 90 it would still be tolerable. I can even take it (not joyfully) at 95 degrees, but it's just over the top when the teachers crank it up over 95. People are still sweating at 90 degrees, so why make it so hot that it alienates people who can't tolerate it? I seriously doubt people would know the difference if it wasn't cranked to 100 degrees every time. I know it's 100 because I am always by the door which is by the controls, so I can see it. So I'm not exaggerating. The attitude at CP when I've gently expressed that it's too hot for me is a blank look and "that's just how it is here." So there is really no room for any one to ask if it can be less hot.
I have been going to CP for the last about 5 years, maybe 4, I can't remember. I am in my 50's but in really good shape and have been doing yoga for 15 years on and off. So I am not an unhealthy person. I just wanted to express this view because it seems like it's just the culture at CP and there's nothing to do about it. If someone feels too hot, no one is going to say anything, they are just not going to become members if they are like me. I like it there because of convenience with my schedule and CPs locations and all the other Pros I mentioned in the beginning. It's just kind of a bummer because I don't think I can keep going there if it's always going to be like this. I will until I find an alternative, there just isn't a lot of choices right now in my area. I don't do as well with on line classes due to my living situation and I like the push of being in a class at a studio.
Thank you,
