The instructors are wonderful.
Teachers are very informative in demoing the postures, and r helpful.
Class was too crowded and found the bathroom in the studio very disturbing.
My 10 class pass apparently expired and so I am currently being charged for an additional class, and have voided 2-3 remaining classes on the pass.
At the time of purchasing the pass, I told the kind lady that I travel frequently on business and am gone for months at a time. When I'm back in Vancouver, I like to go to your Sea Centre. She said it should be okay, and she'd make a note. The pass was still invalidated, however.
Your studio is great, but I don't believe there should be an expiry date on passes. It seems a strangely greedy and has not been explained to me in a way that makes sense. Other than that, things at your studio are great, and I appreciate your inquiry here.
Thank you.
Gloria's kundalini, we need more classes like hers!
Friendliness of front desk staff
I wasn't disappointed, it was just too crowded for my preferences.
Very friendly,helpful and professional
Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location, but crowded!
I have enjoyed the prenatal classes with Teresa.
I love the classes! Great location too
I would really love for some place to secure my valuables. Often I come to yoga directly from work and I have my computer, phone, wallet, passport, and a host of other very sensitive items. I don't feel comfortable leaving them in a communal space which leads me to usually hide them in my vehicle (also don't feel comfortable with that).
With regard to the studio and experience, I don't think there is anything overly glaring to improve upon. The staff during my last visit was great and I actually had what was likely my best class ever taught by Cali?!? She was subbing in for 6pm flow last Thursday (might be mistaken on the date). It was one of those classes where everything just 'clicked'...the music, the vibe, the practice...thoroughly enjoyed!
I have also been cycling through many of the local studios of late and have noticed the various niches that each services. For what it's worth, here are my observations:
Yyoga - the spa of the yoga studios. Lots of great class variety and feels like you're being pampered with each visit. That said, can be a little 'stuffy' and perhaps erring on the side of pretentious and 'meat market'-ish. Nonetheless, sometimes one's in the mood for this.
Bikram - the military camp of studios. Where I go when it's wet and dreary out and really want to kick my body into submission. Such a brutal practice and my verdict is still out as to whether it's even good for you. If you're very fit and healthy this is a great option but the carpet floor in the Kits studio is just disgusting and is in no way sanitary. Also, when they allowed a prepubescent girl to practice along side her over-bearing mother a few weeks back, I lost a lot of respect. No 12yr old girl should be exerting herself in that environment for 90min. She was clearly in distress and yet was encouraged to not give up.
Semperviva - the casual community studio. No pretentiousness and certainly the most social and friendly environment. This is great when one is comfortable and confident in their practice whilst also in a social mood. However, sometimes the silent meditation pre/post practice is soothing and this is hard to achieve in such a setting. To be honest, having been to Semperviva on occasion in the past I was not the biggest fan but after my great class last week, I'm much more of convert.
The summation of all this is that each studio provides a different experience that I appreciate dependant upon what I seek on a particular day. I think Semperviva does a great job of servicing their niche and should continue to embrace the aspects that foster the friendly, community-centric (is that a word/term?...is now!) environment that exists within their studios. And maybe lockers of some variety. Come to think of it, I have a bunch here at my office that we don't use. Could be something we could donate to the cause if there's interest on your end (they're actually nice, clean, and in great condition).
Cheers

the staff was very helpful and friendly
I love the setting of the sea studio. Make sure you keep this studio space!
kundalini classes
Noise level from a/c
When the air conditioning is on, I can't hear the instructor's voice very much.
The noise sometimes bothers me. It breaks a stillness of a tranquil music too.
There is quite a crowd at change-over time. How about leaving 30 minutes between classes? The changeroom door is very crowded, and you want to get out of the way of the next class, but they have already put their stuff in front of yours. It's not a very good end to an otherwise restorative practice!
Friendly and informative.
Welcoming
Open
understanding
extremely nice
beautiful people inside and out!
Super fun, great staff, clean, smells good!
Unfortunately after having Jai as a teacher I realised that 80% of Semperviva's teachers are not very good.
Wonderful, wonderful teachers. Sea studio in particular is a beautiful studio. As well, the staff at Semperviva are so very kind and friendly, they make a huge difference in helping people feel welcome.
Studio was too busy. Could not do certain poses because I ran into the wall. But I will be back. Thanks!
Mats way too close together.
Friendly, warm, accommodating service. Gloria is a fantastic, vibrant teacher with the energy and demeanour to match. The class could be called Gloralini ;).
Great atmosphere, nice people, easy to get to, lots of class styles to choose from, great teachers, etc.
if there's any way to get rid of the carpet and somehow expand the waiting / change area. Ventilation is also lacking right after a class sweaty class...a bit smelly :/
The studio is quite expensive and the amenities don't really match the price. It would be nice if there were showers and bathrooms that you didn't have to walk through the class to get to. Reduce the size of the store front and increase the size of the amenities.
Many of the classes are crowded and you can't fully do the poses in case you hit someone next to you.
I don't like that I can't pay by direct debit.
The studio gets too hot for me to practice on warm days in the summer.
great teachers and studio space; good class schedule
