Absolutely the best program for those that are tired of professional kids sports. All the kids seem to love every time they have a practice or lesson.

very good instructors.
Adult band
School of Rock has an amazing program for adults. It's a really fun group of people who love to get together and make music. I started just improve my keyboard and performance skills - but quickly learned that the teaching methods are so effective that I could try some new instruments as well. Currently, I'm taking voice & guitar. I'm astounded how much I learn every single week.
Melissa, my voice teacher & the adult band coordinator, has a seemingly endless supply of techniques, exercises, tips & tricks to help people learn to sing better. I never knew there was so much to singing that could be taught. Like a lot of people - I would sing in my car or in the shower - but never really imagined singing publicly. In just a few weeks my range has increased - along with the ability to sing longer passages with more energy. Most important of all - my confidence gets better & better each lesson. Melissa's teaching style is the perfect mix of encouraging, hard-hitting, and effective. Not only do I get to become a better singer - I laugh & smile every lesson just because it's FUN!.
Max is my guitar teacher. Years ago I knew 2 or 3 chords - but I haven't even held a guitar in my hands since. In one lesson, we breezed through about 4 chords and then asked - "Do you think you have those 4 down?". I said "sure??" - so he said - GREAT - that means you can play "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day. To prove it - he started a recording and I could strum along. He works with an app that lets him slow down songs, loop them and more to really nail practicing.
But the best part of all is every Wednesday night when our Adult Band gets together to rehearse. Everyone has worked hard during the week to get their parts down and Wednesday is where we get to see if it all comes together. Usually it does. Even when it does not - it's fun - we laugh - we practice - we improve. It's a great group of people who just really enjoy making music.
Several times a year - we get to perform in professional venues. That's an amazing rush - to be up on stage, with the lighting, the sound system, and the audience. There's nothing quite like it.
If you've ever dreamed of being a rock star - this is the place that can let you live that dream at any age.
My son had a great birthday party experience. Forming a band with his friends was fun and different from any other birthday party he had been to. We received great service and it made my son interested in the Parents’ Night Out opportunities. He likes how he is treated and looks forward to the nights he can attend. It’s such a nice change from gyms.
It gives my child the opportunity to preform with confidence. The friendships built with other students are also a plus.
Best music program with no doubt!!!
They're very interactive and fun.
My son loves being able to pick the songs that he learns. I love that I also get to pick a song that he learns. He loves the friendships that he's made from the band.
My daughter is just starting the program but she loves it so far. I like the approach that you take with the lessons plus the band performance. I think its a good environment for her to be a part of with other kids who love music.
This is a great program for all ages and it involves family members when they get to attend shows! Fun and a wonderful way to enjoy music.
School of Rock has given my child confidence to stand up on a stage and perform with no hesitation. And he loves it! I can't imagine him without a bass guitar or drumsticks in his hands.
Love that they each get a turn to play an instrument
Allows our kids to express themselves, and they get exposed to some amazing music that spans over 70 years.
Instructors are amazing plus so much fun for kids!
Mia is really enjoying herself in rookies class. She loves singing and playing the guitar!!
Great instruction. Team building amongst the band members. Teaching art, responsibility and coolness all at the same time. Giving kids a chance to express themselves in a healthy and fun way.
I'm having the time of my life playing keyboards with a great adult band at School of Rock Plano. I'm doing things I never thought was possible! This is a fun & safe but challenging & thrilling environment.
My teacher, Matt Fowler, is a genius! Not only is a very talented musician - he's a natural-born teacher & coach. He just seems to "get" how I can do - which is always more than I think I can. He knows how & when to push harder - and when to slow down and master a fundamental more deeply. There are single classes where I learn more than I have learned in the last 10 years. After every class - I'm always amazed how fast 45 minutes went by because it was fun every single second.
Melissa Johnson runs the evening rehearsals like an expert conductor - with humor and energy, praise and encouragement, and perfectly placed critiques and corrections that keep us all improving.
I go home excited every week - play my music LOUD - and can't wait to go back again.
This program is great for any adult who still has the heart of a child and a love of music. The other band members are all talented and enthusiastic - anything we lack in musical skill we make up with fun and VOLUME!
I find myself at age 52 - about to send my last kids off to college and looking for the next great adventure. School of Rock is an amazing part of the next chapter.
DON'T LOOK BACK - ROCK ON!
I like that my son, Ari, gets to try all instruments
My son loves it. Quite expensive though.
