I have an outside, below ground, installation. I love the convenience so I don't have to be home or open my home. I rent the service too. What I DON'T like: the tanks can get old and I have to request the stainless steel - newer tanks. I experience a "gray water" if an older tank is used and I always know and have to call for a replacement. The manager explained this to me and assured me that I always would get a stainless steel tank. This doesn't happen. CHECKING FOR LEAKS - I experienced a serious fitting burst when I was at work, and it leaked for 12 hours before being discovered. This resulted in my home foundation literally FLOATING so that there are now permanent cracks throughout the home where it "shifted." I could have sued the company but I didn't know the repercussions. In addition, I was paying the City for months for the resulting thousands of gallons of water. Now I always check after a replacement to see if there is a leak. Better that I know it is policy to CHECK FOR LEAKS! On a positive note, I love the soft water - but am told there are now alternatives so I won't get the "gray water." I am a senior and am thinking of the future for my home.
