Customer Testimonials
I love the encouragement from the instructors and from the fellow band mates.
Great teachers and the methodology works! and it's super fun
They are doing a great job empowering my child. My child came to SOR after three negative music teacher experiences in other places. Their years at SOR have helped them grow tremendously. They are more outspoken with their music knowledge and continue to impress me with their understanding of music composition.
Granted, I didn't come in new to vocals, I had never performed rock music solo with a band, so my first season was eye-opening with how different this is than singing in a choir or singing karaoke. I think the thing that sets SoR apart from just taking lessons, is the live performance aspect of the program. I've had my share of recitals, concerts, but there's 2 things about a live performance with a band that really ramps up your dedication and drive to improve: 1) Being part of a band, with a goal of a certain gig date puts a certain amount of pressure on everyone to do their absolute best and practice more than you might have just taking private lessons. No one wants to be the weakest link in the band and you can also glean teaching moments from others better than you if you're so inclined. 2) Playing a real live performance on stage is just cool. It's a lot of people's dream to step on any stage and be able to perform and this program enables that experience.
I'll also mention that the instructors trully love music and are down-to-earth people that are eager to share therr knowledge to make you a better musician.
My daughter loves the performance and lessons.
Everyone and especially Leilani are so helpful.
Engaging and fun!
The program structure is fantastic - it allows learning with application. The teachers are very professional and skilled. The coordinators are very warm and are always there to help! Love the learning experience!
The variety of music, the commorodary built among the kids, the good instructors for lessons...It has changed our son's social life dramatically for the better.
That our child enjoys them and is developing as a musician
The teachers are great, patient and encouraging! The song selections are fun too.
The quality of the instructors. It all boils down to that.
You are so great with my son who is on the spectrum and also accommodating to our family. I am very grateful to the School of Rock staff and instructors. My experience has only been excellent.
i like the people and vibe at the School of Rock Katy and how friendly the staff is. I just wish if there was a delay in starting a class due to any reason such as finding an available room or for tutor that was late due to previous class on schedule - to make up those lost minutes of the class and not cut it short.
The director, Sarah, is a true gem. She’s always making everyone feel like a rock star, knowing how best to highlight their strengths and talents.
The staff and teachers are all great humans. Shout out to Elliott & Gina just to name a couple.
So grateful to feel, learn and grow musically with this place that feels like a warm hug from home.
I think the combination of weekly group practice with an individual lesson is really effective. My child is motivated in his lesson because it translates to his performance with the band - this keeps him focused and interested in learning.
Excellent communication to the parents about expectations and timelines. Lots of reminders get sent out which I find helpful.
It’s a sharp, well-run organization. I appreciate the patience and grace they give the students and parents.
Shows are awesome. Teachers and staff always make the kids feel special.
Everything!
Our kids feel seen, heard, loved and accepted by the instructors and the staff.
They learn to LOVE music and understand it, and through it connect to the world.
Cants recommended this program enough.
Real life experience of playing in front of audience.
Attention to details.
My husband was so impressed with the whole approach, that he wants to start taking guitar lessons with you:)
Working with others toward performance..
My daughter has been going to SOR for years. She takes private lessons, participates in the Performance Bands, and is in House Band. We have watched her get better and better... and more confident.
The lessons are geared towards anyone's level whether you're a beginner or someone who has played for years the school does a great job pairing you up with an instructor that will help you advance in your skills. For me playing in the adult band and having an instructor that is a gigging player themselves really helps my process in what I'm learning and then able to get better and be able to perform without hesitation.
The staff is really nice and helpful and is a pleasure to deal with all the time.
You've got both of my kids actually interested in music, and practicing. That was very difficult before!
The pace and the flexibility of the instructor (Miles James) for working professionals who struggle to make class and/or practice.
Awesome program. They really care about their students!! Compassionate and encouraging, bring out their strengths and building confidence. Highly recommend!
Yes! We love the inclusivity for all musicians and the opportunities the program provides for all levels. Both of my kids have loved their experiences and their vigor for performing has grown exponentially with each new season.
They have knowledgable instructors who guide the students to learn and enjoy the music at the same time.
Great instructors and great performance opportunities. Very supportive and welcoming music school!
I like how students are always pushed to be the best of themselves, to keep on improving.
