Instructor was friendly and helpful. Class was a challenge but enjoyable.

I started doing pilates at the King William Road studio in mid last-year. I had done about four classes before I broke my humerus (upper arm) and had to have emergency surgery. I was advised by my physio not to do any pilates until January, 2015. I have slowly started rebuilding muscle in my arm since the surgery (July 2014), using therabands, 1kg weights, stretches and aerobics videos (Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds series and Denise Austin videos). Also yoga apps and meditation apps, where I stretch during meditation.
Yesterday, Wednesday March 25, I attended my first pilates & barre class at the Goodwood studio and it was fabulous. The instructor, Elisa, was beautiful, warm and friendly, and very helpful. I look forward to doing more classes with her and other instructors.

Make it very clear how physically demanding the workout will be.
I am looking forward to coming again as I think it is really worhtwhile, but I am 60 years old and would warn others that are unfit to take the aerobic and strength stamina aspects of the class with care.
I am determined to improve as My body neds this.

I would like more options for those getting their fitness level up and those with weak areas e.g. lower back. I also thought the abdominal exercises (with both feet off the floor) were difficult and have potential to strain and damage the lower back. The entire class appeared to have difficulty doing the abdominal exercise but still an alternative exercise option was not offered. The instructor was pleasant but needs to be more aware of individual needs.

I like the constant correction to my posture as I do the exercises and the small classes. I loved it when Christine included the weights to our routine in reformer, such a great workout!

Offer a free first visit - as I was surprised that my first visit to the studio was charged at full cost.
a little more information when entering the studio - I did introduce myself as a 'newbie'. nothing was explained - eg where the toilets were - that I would need my drink in the class - that it might be wise to grab a towel.
I was not asked if I had any injuries, so if necessary I should vary the routine/class.
communication by the instructor was fabulous - voice level and checking on posture was also very good
Tailored teaching with knowledgable and engaging instructors. First time there and knew how I would learn - not easy so well done

It's a great studio, just not as nice and big as the glenelg studio. More squashy and not as many mirrors to help check your doing the excercise right.

I like that you appear to have such a great understanding about how the body works. You think outside the square. Most Physios look at just your sore spot. You guys look at why it might be sore and what else might be triggering the soreness.
I like that you have several classes a day before and after work that I can choose from. Rachel was so lovely at my introduction assessment and made me feel very welcome. I am really looking forward to starting my first class today and will definitely recommend anyone to Inner Strength Pilates & Barre.
