No usher to check tickets or welcome guests. I spent $50 for two tickets, but could have EASILY just seen the movie free as there was NO staff presence on the lobby floor. Lobby was dark(?) and uninviting. Is Santikos saving money on staff AND electricity? Concessions staff was fast & friendly, per the usual. Napkin/straw/condiment station was stocked, if a little unkempt- not a problem and not out of the ordinary. The build-in trash area at the entrance of Auditorium 16 was filthy. Trash on floor, buckets' worth of popcorn on the counter where the actual can was hidden. It appeared to not have been cleaned for hours. Previews started 10-11 minutes late, and there was no pre-reel/Noovie- just quiet and dark. I love previews, but they should start at the showtime, not over ten minutes late. The actual screening of the movie was flawless and I genuinely enjoyed the movie itself. I stopped to perhaps grab a promo poster upon leaving, only to see there were none; strange for and "Imax Fan Event." My son laughed that I expected a poster, considering the state of the theatre.
I am saddened to see the current state of The Grand. We have been attending since opening day in 2007 or so, and my son has grown up visiting this theatre more times than I can count. I will continue to visit as it is only a mile away and is among my favorite things to do in PCB. However, please invest in enough staff to welcome guests, take tickets, and give directions. Please invest in enough staff to clean lobbies and auditorium, and to start movies on time. Please invest in whatever is needed to brighten(?) the lobbies and make Thee Grand more welcoming.
I truly would like to continue to enjoy visits to one of my favorite businesses in Pier Park.

I needed help in using a gift card and the clerk at customer service and the concession stand were so helpful and polite!!!!! At the concession stand she even reminded me that I had enough points to cover my drink...Very helpful...Theatre was so clean also..

For whatever reason the soda fountain drinks are better than the one’s at North West. The soda fountain’s at North West are flat, no fizz.

I go to santikos only. The Tuesday special at my theater in New braunfels allows Me to treat my family to a movie any time. I pray it never goes away. If it did I wouldn't be able to see 20-30 movies a year.

We love the value and the experience offered and fulfilled every time we visit.

So easy and so many showings

I have been going since the theater opened up. When the changes were made it made the theater a world class theater. My wife and I went to the theater every Tuesday for a date day and then Covid struck. We have started back but not on the same continuous basis as before but we are working toward that. We love our Amstar theater and have come to know many employees on a first name basis. Sometimes I will slip off when my wife cannot go and see a movie that I want to see and one she isn't so fond of. To say we are movie nuts is about perfect. The only thing I would like to see is caramel cheddar popcorn. That would make my movie night perfect. The other thing is the language in the movies has gotten out of hand. PG-13 with f@#% this and F@%*ing that has gotten awful. R-rated has become almost x-rated. My wife will not go to R-rated movies anymore and that restricts us from going because most are R-rated that I want to see. And now the previews have gotten trashy as well. If the previews on PG-13 movies get anymore trashy as some are using the F word in previews we both will not be going anymore and that is a shame. We spend alot of money with Amstar and I would hate to see that end.

All of it
