the group fitness and the overall availability of equipment choices.
Needs to be better cleaned
Keep time for broken equipment at a minimum
I attend Genesis around 3-5 times per week. Staff overall are not very pleasant. There are a couple of nice people there, but for the most part the front desk staff ignores you while they are constantly on their phones. ( as an employer myself, this is an absolute non negotiable for my employees when it comes to greeting and working with the public. Phones need to be put away. ) The personal trainers ignore you as they walk by. They can't even say hello. The personal trainers also will take up large areas of workout space/ benches, machines with clipboards on them / when others could use them in between sets. Very inconsiderate.
Cleanliness of the facility has gotten worse since covid. There should be a thorough cleaning of the facility a minimum of 1 time per week. I see layers of dust and stains from protein / energy drinks on the floor for weeks at a time. I sincerely appraise you supplying cleaning items for members to clean themselves.
My last concern is the consideration of members. I realize this is harder to control, but I feel that staff could constructively coach members on proper use of machines and gym etiquette. Many times when I come, I can't even get on a machine because a member might "camp out" for 10-20 minutes at a time. The overall facility is solid. You have all the equipment that I need and I do appreciate your hours of operation.
Multiple cable machines have broken in the past few weeks and haven’t been fixed, and others have remain un-repaired for several more weekend. There are also multiple elliptical machines that will turn on, but reset completely intermittently or after a few minutes. My last feedback request from genesis reflected the issues with the ellipticals, and I received an email stating someone would look into it, but I don’t think it was ever addressed.
Clean and organized environment. Friendly staff. Really like your location.
Air conditioning doesn’t work. Make it’s very difficult to use treadmill when when it’s so hot before you even get started that it feels like you could pass out.
Location
Outdoor pool
Pilates reformer classes
Well trained instructors
I appreciate the diversity of fitness options.
I would suggest that you implement a recycling program for all the aluminum cans and plastic bottles that members dispose of in the trash cans throughout the club.
My personal trainer is very knowledgeable and wise when it comes to avoiding injury and how to gradually increase my athletic abilities. The friendly staff and friendly relations with other members make my workout sessions more enjoyable.
Fix the equipment that has been “temporarily unavailable” for weeks if not months. More airflow on hotter days.
Ease of upgrading my membership
I miss the app that we used to have with Sky for class times, checking in, etc. Price is a little bit high. Went up a little bit from what I was paying with Sky when I signed new contract.
Good variety of exercise equipment. Shower room is large. Steam room and sauna. Nice to have both indoor and outdoor pools.
Like the new remodel
The club is on a slow decline since Genesis took over. The classes are infrequent and not good. Cycle in particular. Once a strong program is not haphazard at best and you never know when the instructor will show up. The woman teaching the evening class (the red head) should be teaching a a cardiac rehab center the class is so slow.
There is no app just a website that is never updated.
The machines are not repaired quick enough and sometimes out for days. Since you all don't have a substantial mix of machines then one being out for days is an impact.
Brian is leaving, the new guy is engaging so I am cautiously optimistic. Should another facility open up in the downtown area we would bail.
Oh and the front gate works as sporadically as your class schedule.
I know a zero is harsh but what is it going to take to get you all to listen.
Friendly Staff.
More weights and accessories available
Keep wet sauna working. Needs a refresh. More towels. Maybe time for new ones.
Clean gym that has everything you need for a great workout. You will always be greeted upon arrival and departure.
Whatever you could do to get people to pick up after themselves would be great. Particularly in the mat area next to the basketball courts.
Variety of times for water aerobics classes and great instructors.
Clean the place better.
Mainly the machine padding gets worn out and causes pain on the skin. I would like for these to just be repaired quickly and not for it to take months
You are taking a long time to tidy up the facility. The general feeling is that Genesis East is suffering due to slow work being done at the old Racquet Club. The men's locker room needs a deep cleaning and upgrade. Much of the equipment upstairs (elliptical, bikes, some treadmills) needs attention...a lot of squeaks and groans. Spinning bikes are OK for now, but are getting tired. The staff that I interact with are very good...knowledgeable and friendly... Sarah,Dusty, Ben, Vanessa, Richard, Dre as well as Aaron and Gracie at the front desk. When you get the pool done at the Racquet Club I hope you move some of the group "water fitness" sessions to that facility as that pool isn't good for lap swimming.
When I was there on Friday this is what I found:
1. No Towels - I take a swim class and this is a Continuous Problem
2. Water Extractor for Swim Suits is STILL broken
3. Hot Tub was Overflowing
4. Steam Room was out of Order
5. The Outside Patio is Gross and Dirty and all Junked Up
- Unpleasant to sit out there after class and disgusting to walk across barefoot
6. No Coffee - a common occurrence.
Love your water aerobics classes, your ladies dressing area, ample parking and the machines upstairs that help with my toning the muscles
Close to my home, clean, good equipment, friendly staff
Classes, indoor and outdoor pool, clean, excellent service.
The club is DIRTY! It also needs the long promised remodel/ upgrade to get going asap.
