Covers everything important, and feels like a full workout. Burns a lot of calories, and keeps you on your toes. Never the same workout two days in a row.
The atmosphere and the instructors make you want to keep coming back.
I like that it varies every day, the flexibility in times of classes, the energy, and that I get a full body workout.
The variety of the workouts keep the class interesting. The coaches are very motivating.
Variations in the workout template
I love not having to think about what workout to do. The support from the coaches and peers is great! I also love the music. I push myself way harder at OTF than I would at home!
I like that I don’t have to think. I just show up and do! The staff is also super friendly and the coaches handle large groups very well, making sure all are kept in line with the days goals and on time. I also like that I can track my progress and see how I’m improving over time. Lastly I travel frequently for work. Normally it’s easy to find an OT anywhere I go and I love that the workouts are on the same schedule, allowing me to keep my normal routine.
Vary, group setting. Coach works with you to accommodate with alternate exercises.
There are so many things I love about my OTF workout it's hard to focus in on just one, so I'll try to list as many as possible:
1) The studio is a 5-minute bike ride or drive from my home, which makes it super convenient to incorporate into my life.
2) Parking is easy
3) I feel like I'm on a Cheers episode when I walk in (I know I'm dating myself with this reference) as I'm greeted by warm and smiling people who know my name.
4) The workout space is clean, cool, doesn't stink like a gym, and it's calming and invigorating with state of the art equipment.
5) The coaches hold a wonderful balance of being fun, friendly, and encouraging, while totally getting the psychology of exercise and infuse their messages with motivational and science-based factoids and information.
6) The music is always motivating no matter the genre and says a little about the coaches unique styles.
I've just listed 6 things and haven't even gotten to the actual workout yet!
7) The workouts kick my butt, but in the best way possible. I start each one a little nervous about what that day's workout will bring, sometimes I feel unmotivated and tired when I arrive after a long day at the office, but then I just start walking, and then I start running, and then before I know it, I'm totally in it and whispering to myself "Let's Go!" The variety, the intensity, the balancing and pacing of everything all comes together so that by the end I'm a drenched, sweaty mess with neurotransmitters firing like crazy making me feel strong, energized, and accomplished, yet calm and peaceful.
8) I love the tech and being able to know what push pace feels like in my body and what numbers are associated with that. And I love when after some time my push pace numbers change, which means I'm changing, which is the reason I'm going in the first place.
9) I love working out with other people. It's very motivating and supportive, just to know someone next to me is working their tail off too. And I really appreciate when the coaches ask us to give our neighbor's a high five after doing something tough, and we side smile and air five each other.
10) I love the post-workout email summaries, which I'll quickly scan and feel like I just got a badge of accomplishment.
11) I love that I've actually internalized my coaches and some of their different workouts, so whenever I'm traveling and staying at a hotel, in addition to using the OTF app, I can also just run myself through a power or strength session and know what to do.
I'm a clinical health psychologist and health behavior researcher, and it's obvious that all of the things I love about OTF aren't by accident and are a part of a larger, purposeful strategy that is backed by science.
