Classes, although I think you need less virtual ones and more "real" ones.
I like the atmosphere - very family-oriented and filled with all ages and shapes and sizes.
I particularly like the indoor track.
What I found the most fantastic about the JCC when I became familiar with the gym / fitness center about 5 years ago: my son, then in high school, would go to JCC to work out under a friend's pass ($5 charge I believe). Then they told more friends and more highschool boys were coming to the JCC. Our family ended up getting a membership.
The atmosphere of the JCC is one where young and old work out and live healthy lifestyles together. It's for health and fun and community (not a meat market - guys meeting girls etc.) If friendships are made, that's great - but that's not the reason for being there (showing off). It's community for all ages. I love it.

I love the feeling I get that everyone is welcome. A step into the building conveys an intention to influence a healthy community. The respect for individuals regardless of age and physical ability is obvious and the numerous and varied offerings speaks to an attempt reach the entire community. It is unlikely that one looking for community could not find it here.
Cleanliness and general condition of the equipment
I use the JCC mostly for spinning and yoga. The Kaiser bikes are simply the best and the only spin class I have seen with power meters. Yoga is a highly individualized activity; finding just the right instructor/class is difficult - hard to please everyone! I also tried the RAW class - liked it but during the summer just not enough time to do it.
Everyone is friendly and we're greeted with a smile. Clean facilities are top notch
I was the fitness facilities
I like: location close to home; types of exercise I need, e.g., swimming & resistance/weights & yoga; helpful, friendly caring and knowledgeable staff from sign in desk to instructors; cultural events such as 92nd Street Y Broadcasts, speakers, films, theater, TYKES, senior tech center; Geulah's friendliness, caring & concern & generosity of spirit & in her portions of food, her food especially soup & turkey & veggie burgers, her hot sauce, like so many others at J CC makes herself so easy to get to know; other members who are friendly but not suffocating; longer hours; health tip emails from athletic director whose name escapes me; having staff in charge of specific things to contact with question; offering enough things to have questions about; the guest policy; two levels of locker room . . to name but a few of the things I like about the JCC. I have been a golfing member Locust Hill Country Club for over 30 years, I could sing similar praises about LHCC as I do for JCC & I would not give that club up for anything, but JCC runs a close second especially for the workout benefits of being able to swim all year long because I am a swimmer & especially in anticipation of new pool where there will be more room and time to do laps & resistance all year long. Thank you for asking and for striving for continuous improvement by soliciting member feedback.
